Proman,
Sorry I found this so late.
I think that this will be a very interesting gmae to watch. It could go either way.
OSU has lost two of it's best defensive players for the season. Safety Elbert Craig, and linebacker Lawrence Pinson are out with torn acl and broken leg/dislocated ankle injuries.
KSTATE is really a total mystery coming in as far as the "feeling" of the team. I've scoured all sources I have for some insight but the best I could get was internet message board hype with a bit of realism intertwined.
They are coming off a stunning loss to a sub par Marshall team, and a BLOWN win that they HAD in the bag against Texas. And I don't really know what is up with E.R.
Oklahoma State has played North Texas, Wyoming, Louisana Lafayette, and SMU. Those teams are all REALLY REALLY BAD. LAla was 117 out of 117 in offense and they were ahead 3 to 0 after a quarter, and could have been up by almost 3 tds (missed fg, drops, fumble, poor throws to w/o recievers). The ran the ball down osu's throat early. After midway through the 2nd quarter, they were done for the night, and OSU made them look like the H.S. team they are. I don't know if they were looking past them, or what.
The only test OSU has had was against Nebraska. OSU lost that game because they fumbled twice inside the fifteen. Once it was ran in for a TD and once it was recovered on the 11. That doesn't explain their lack of output in that game, since they only scored 7 points.
Nebraska is not THAT good. I still feel that OSU should have won that game. But I also can honestly tell you that I have not been impressed by what I have seen by my Cowboys yet this year.
The reason I am not playing this game, is not because of OSU's loss on the defensive side of the ball, but rather the lack of consistency by Josh Fields. He just is not playing well at all. He has missed wide open recievers several times per game, and frankly, he hasn't even been close on many. He had a good game against SMU, who was dumb enough to single cover Rashaun Woods with no Safety help.
KSTATE won't do that.
I don't know man, I could go deep down into every aspect of oklahoma state in this game, and honestly, I think they have a great chance to win. They're playing at home, they have tons of confidence, they are athletically equal and actually might have MORE team speed.
I just can't put my money on 'em.
I had the line at KSU -8. It came out way lower than that.
So basically, there is a bunch of yadda yadda yadda for you to wade through to get "pass" out of.
