DETROIT PISTONS plus 6 1/2 vs. San Antonio Spurs

I believe that some late Public Money will be on San Antonio, so if you can hold off or find a 7, grab it...

If you've been following me for awhile, many of you know how important I think 7 points is in the NBA...

The bottom line here is whether you believe that DETROIT'S TEAM, Coaching and Defense is enough to overcome the more talented Spurs team...

Tonight, I believe the Pistons not only have a legimate shot at covering, but it would not shock me if they beat the Spurs outright...

Rather than going through all the match ups because I don't have the time, and frankly, the advantage goes to the Spurs, I will keep it simple that in a Game 1, a lot can happen, so why not take all the points???

If you are going to steal a game on the Road, Game 1 is always easier than Game 2. The Pistons will also show a much more patient approach than the Suns did against San Antonio...

And, hey, Motown has a DEFENSE to boot...

PISTONS plus all the points is a medium play for me tonight...

Best of Luck.

Does anybody know what the ATS record is of teams who just won a 7th game going on the road to face a team that won their series in 5 or less?

An added question? What is the Avg. MOV by the home team in these games?

perfect spot for a no pressure all out effort from a pretty big dog. match-ups? forget it. Coaching? Now there is one coach or actually two that I would love to have against the spurs..Jackson and Brown. Brown knows how to frustrate teams and steal a 7 game series.

With all that said... I wouldnt put my hand in this gm 1 buzzsaw. I would pass on gm 1 and only bet on the spurs during the series. I want to see what Brown does to slow down SA. If they cant control the 1-2-3 punch of Duncan-Ginobli-Parker after 3 days to prepare then for get it. They are gonna get killed and no number they can hang will be enough. If he can slow them down then these games will go under.

Since you asked, I will answer. This game somewhat reminds me of the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals where the Heat had been sitting for, if I recall, approximately 10 days after beating a Wizards team without any defense. The Pistons meanwhile were coming off a tough defensive battle with the Pacers. Results, Pistons take Game 1 in Miami. In that game, the difference in the level of intensity between the Pistons and the Heat was dramatic as the layoff clearly impacted the Heat.

In this game, the Spurs have been sitting for 8 days and while practicing and healing which is very important, the rest also causes mental relaxation and practice is not near game speed or intensity. Meanwhile, the Pistons are coming off a very intense series with significant defensive play by both teams and every possession was critical, particularly in Game 7. They have had 3 days rest and should be fresh yet game sharp. The Spurs come off playing a Suns team that played up tempo and little defense. The Spurs matched the tempo but had better D. There are some match-ups that favor the Spurs, particularly Duncan but my sense is this game will be tight due to the layoff of the Spurs and the game readiness of the Pistons, not to mention the lack of respect as the defending champion. I very much respect the Spurs, but feel the number is just a tad high in this one. I would lean with taking the points.
