Note, this is not spam, and I do not work for, or are affiliated with this site.

But Cheapovegas.com is by far the most informative site on hotels and stuff to do while in vegas.

They also have some very entertaning trip reports.

Check em out

Hmm..

What I like best are the trip reports. There is one where these two guys try to survive in vegas on just 19 bucks a day, including hotel.

Fairly entertaining.

They also have in depth reviews of hotels. I mean every little detail is pointed out, including even the smallest hotel amenity.

The two sites I posted will get you by on far LESS than that........and make you money in the process.

fish what made you want to leave vegas if you dont mind my asking. .it sounds like you had it pretty good there. well connected, decent job, chics, money, tons of friends, etc etc . .

i think thats cool that you could make a lot of your opportunity there and just head to florida and be every bit as succesful in gambling.

they have a saying "its not where you're from, its where you're at"

You are correct!

But VEGAS is/was very much a CATCH 22 city..........for me personally.

To me...........less smog, less crime. less scumballs, less traffic, beautiful scenery, and a more relaxed lifestyle appealed to me much more..........than all the comps, excitement, and money making oppurtunities that were there.

True, but that is for the Tampa Bay area. Just stay in that area and you will be ok.

Travel a hundred miles Southeast and it is another world all together. Rude people, traffic, basicly a rat race.

Vegas has no value for the sports bettors. I remember running litterally trying to get the best numbers. It was a real ***** trying to cross the strip and Flamingo before the walkover. Trying to get to Little C',s, Ceasars, Bally's, I.P, Barbary Coast was quite the workout.

Cheapovegas is a really neat site. Those guys are hilarious and offer nice casino reviews.

I would argue that Vegas offers a lot of value to sports bettors actually as you can often get very square numbers in this town. If I see an NFL game lined at 7 across the offshores on Don Best, I know I can get 7.5 at a number of places in Vegas. Just one example... NBA, NCAA hoops, NFL and NCAA football are all sports where you can often get a better number on the dog or under in Vegas... but you do have to pound the pavement.

I'm someone who works at a desk, and bets sports recreationally so I'm not a "sports bettor." If your "job" is betting sports, then I think having access to Vegas numbers is quite beneficial.

david, the fact I can make a bet and then watch the game with 50 other people who have action on it is appealing also
