A bowl sponsored by an electronic currency that is the choice of international drug dealers, arms dealers, money launderers. Obviously Bitcoin is trying to go legitimate. Just like Don Corleone in Godfather III taking over International Immobiliare.

Who paid for this sponsorship? I don't understand what entity it would be that would pay a bowl to put Bitcoin on the front of it.

I did some research. The actual sponsor is a company called BitPay even though they are calling the BitCoin Bowl. Why not just call it the BitPay Bowl.

BitPay is the largest global bitcoin payment service provider[SUP][1][/SUP] headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in May 2011 by Anthony - Antonio Gallippi and Stephen Pair, the company has been called the "****** of Bitcoin".[SUP][2][/SUP]BitPay provides payment processing services for more than 40,000 businesses and processed over US $100 million worth of bitcoin transactions in 2013.[SUP][2][/SUP] In 2014, BitPay started processing $1 million USD daily.[SUP][3][/SUP]
In 2014 BitPay expanded its North American presence beyond its headquarters in Atlanta, opening offices in New York City,[SUP][4][/SUP] San Francisco[SUP][4][/SUP] and St. Petersburg, Florida.[SUP][5][/SUP] The company's global reach also continues to grow as BitPay's European headquarters opened in Amsterdam[SUP][6][/SUP] and their South American Headquarters were opened in Argentina[SUP][7][/SUP] establishing them as the largest global Bitcoin company.
BitPay has partnered with many large merchants over the past year including NewEgg,[SUP][8][/SUP] TigerDirect,[SUP][9][/SUP] Warner Bros. Records,[SUP][10][/SUP] Virgin Galactic,[SUP][11][/SUP] Shipito,[SUP][12][/SUP] Rakuten Super Logistics[SUP][13][/SUP] BitPay has also partnered with ******[SUP][14][/SUP] as well as Merchant Acquirers such as Global Payments[SUP][15][/SUP] and Alternet Systems[SUP][16][/SUP] that allow many businesses around the world to easily integrate Bitcoin as a payment option.

Bitcoin has a better ring to it than bitpay, and brings attention to bitcoin which is good for bitpay. Naming it bitpay probably wouldn't get the same attention.

Additionally From a branding point of view they want their name to be synonymous with bitcoin, like they are the only
processor to consider.

Juice Bonus Betting before the bitcoin bowl. Includes all football games.

Until the BTCitcoin BTCowl and Juice-Free football betting at Nitrogen Sports!

On December 26th, for the 2 hours before the kickoff of the Bitcoin Bowl, ALL FOOTBALL BETS will be juice (vig/cut/take/etc) free at Nitrogen!

That's right, not just bets placed on College Football bowl games but also the upcoming NFL games this weekend! As long as the bet is made between 6-8pm EST, before the BTCitcoin BTCowl starts, it'll be juice-free!

I'm surprised anyone even stopped to consider this sponsoring. Everything under the sun has been represented now in Bowl sponsorships. Have we all forgotten the Weedeater Bowl already? This year the Duck Commander whatever Bowl caught my eye. Can someone clue me in on wtf Duck Commander is all about? Here's a hint for all though... you come up with the big bucks and you can slap your name on a bowl game so long as you're paying them enough, guarantee it.

my first official 3BTC wager will be on this game.
trytrytry- Merry Christmas!

The juice free is for all football games. You just have to make the bet during that two hour period. I'll fire away on lots of games juice free.

This is one of the books I play at. If you have Bitcoin already, the sign-up and transfer is easy. It can be done sitting on your couch in your underwear just like Neteller used to be.

I wish Bitpay would be a little more aggressive with their marketing to get market share away from WU, MG and PP.
