And guess what he plans to gamble all of it. This is from a guy that just ruined his life just a few months back by gambling everything away. He is a really brillant guy but just an idiot with the gambling.

I cant talk him out of it, he feels like he owes his dad(who died) by winning everything back that he lost. He even started a blog at www.gamblinghurts.blogspot.com.

Anyone have any ideas how to stop this, he has not started yet but he plans to today after work. Why do i get the feeling this will be his last day at work.

Is his Monther still alive, or does his father have any other close relatves or friends who know him well enough to know exactly how disappointed his father was with his gambling - if so then get them to have a little chat with him.

At the end of the day, you cant really stop someone doing what they really want to do, but the guilt might make some small difference...

Guy needs to pay some guy $50 a night to kick him in the balls, at least that way it will take him years and it will have the same nightly affect as betting.:drink:

If hes going to gamble with a 350k bankroll i'd advise him to set up a Matchbook account and never wager more than 1 percent of his roll on a single play.

If he doesn't use money management, we all know what the end result will be- he will eventuallly lose all. He shouldn't feel that he has to get the 150K back to make his father proud of him. This is just bad thinking! His father would be even be more proud if he stopped gambling. Most of us are in the negative from gambling, of course we all want to get it all back and then some, but most will just continue to lose. It seems your friend, even if he did win over 150K, still wouldn't stop gambling "recklessly".

I've seen friends lose a lot more than 350K in just a short amount of time by gambling and one with a bad coke habit, ending up broke and wishing they could go back in time.

I hope this doesn't happen to Ryan.

idiot should invest most of it ....& set aside like $25,000 to gamble with but it sounds like he is a degenerate so mentioning that is useless I suppose.

Don't Believe He'll Try Sports Betting

Too slow for him. He wants the "rush" BJ or craps will give him. Next flight to "Sin City" coming up. I give 3 days @ most, hopefully he doesn't become another stat in the LVRJ obits! :ohno:
