My buddy has a 7 team parlay alive with 1 team left. Would you hedge?

I love hearing all of your thoughts. He has a $25/$2237 riding on Syracuse -7. His college boys say let it ride. I said don't be a fool bet a G on Dayton and make your $25 a $1000. We all kind of like Syracuse in this game and thus the problem. Thoughts

I always do,I like your thoughts of 1,000 on Dayton + the points.
My thinking is always take the profit and move on to the next bet,still have 200+ on Syracuse-7

Seriously, he should at least put $550 on Dayton+7 to guarantee a profit. You don't want to go 6-1 and end up down $25. As the others have said, betting $990 or $1100 on Dayton+7 is probably even better - it just depends on how much he likes Syracuse and how much he wants to gamble today.

Been lurking around the forum but reading this thread prompted me to post about my situation. Risking about 1200 to win 10k+ if the dodgers win tonight.
On first instinct I am thinking betting Arizona on the run line would be the way to go, giving me a chance to win both initial bet and hedged bet. However, this would require me to post up new funds by WU (not fond of doing that)...

Any professional gambler would hedge, it is one of the fundamentals to surviving as sports bettor. Your buddy is just playing for some action and now he has some real action going for him.

My advice would be to lay some on the other side.

When it is over what will make him happy with no regrets? Walking away with a 200 / 2000, 500 / 1700, 700 / 1500, or 1000 /1200, or 1100 period win on $25 bet.
