Thank God it's a new week. Actually had a great week last week that finished catastrophically (NFL). Bowls have been pretty good to me thus far 7-3. Looking for a HUGE week this week.

Alamo Bowl:

MSU (+3 1/2) ****

Simply thinking: MSU has played a tougher schedule...Michigan,Ohio St. and Wiskey would all CRUSH Nebraska. Also thinking that once Smoker puts a few touchdowns on the board, it will be near impossible for Lord and the Cornhuskers to play catch-up.
Good Luck, MM......

Not the start I was looking for, but who knew that Smoker and the Spartans would be completely shut-down by the "Blackshirts?" What I thought would be a well fought game, turned out to be the exact opposite...One-sided ass-whoppin'...

7-4 Bowl record

Houston Bowl:

Texas Tech (-9 1/2) ****

Simply Thinking: Tech has way too much firepower here. They played a MUCH stronger schedule. They score points at will, even against some strong defenses (ie. Texas-40 Ok-24). And I think Navy is just happy to be in their first bowl game in MANY years. They got a 9 day leave for the holidays, allowing them only 7 practices to get ready for Tech's Offense???? Not to mention an early lead by Tech will take the Midshipmen completely out of their game(run, run, run).
Like the over a bit here too, but staying away. Tech could win this one 49-24 and it would stay under----no thanks..

TT -9.5? Sweet! I like (alot) TT -12. I think you got a winner tonight.

Best of luck.

Just curious...where did you get TT-9.5?? (Thought it opened at -13/13.5) Hope you pounded it at -9.5!

My Bad. I was looking at the Texas line when I was typing. I played this game at -12.
Sorry for the mishap.
Obviously still love it at -12.
Good Luck ALL. I feel today could be a BIG DAY.

Muffin, I'm going to need a part time job at the plant if this keeps up. Any openings?

Holiday Bowl:

over 58.5 ****

Points.Points.Points. These teams will put up the points.
Texas' Offense has been clicking on all cylinders the second half of the season, and Wasu can put some points up themselves.
Wasu's Defense is good, but a similar offense to Texas'(USC) put up 43 pts on them.
So I'm looking for many touchdowns in a game that should be somewhat close.

Silicon Valley Bowl:

Fresno St. (+3) *****

UCLA shouldn't even be in a bowl. Then they go shooting their mouths off about playing Fresno, they are in for a SHOCK! Fresno is foaming at the mouth over this match-up. They have the 32nd best scoring defense in the country, and they're playing a team that only averages 19.9 ppg. This game means the world to Fresno for recruiting purposes. If they can manage the upset over the cross-state recruiting rival, they will show the Golden State they are plays too. Not to mention this team won this bowl last year.
The end of the year totals are uphaling:
Fresno 5-1
UCLA 2-4
Two teams heading in opposite directions, with different frames of mind.
Great Spot for Fresno......

9-5 Bowl to date

HUGE day today

BOWL GAME OF THE YEAR

SUN BOWL
Minnesota (-3 1/2) **********

This team just has way too much firepower for Oregons pathetic Defense.
82nd pts allowed
63rd rushing
Minny's Offense
8th PPG
4th yds/pg
6th Rushing
They will just wear down Oregon's Defense. Oregon finished the year horribly, and it will carry over into the post season. Minny will be fired up for this shot.

Music City Bowl
Auburn (-3) *******

If the last two days of bowls have showed us anything, it is that Defense's are starting to win games. And Auburn just has way too much Defense.
13th pts allowed
13th rushing D
37th passing D
8th yds/game

And all we here about Wiskey's offense, they aren't that good.
Scoring 57th
Rushing 54th
yds/game 55th
passing 81st (amazing to me) considering how good Lee Evans is.

Good Luck to all. Will post later plays in a bit.

Leans on BC (-1)
Ark (-2 1/2)

Liberty Bowl

Utah (-1 1/2) *****

Independence Bowl

Arkansas (-2 1/2) bought hook *****

Just think Arkansas is just too well rounded/coached for Mizzo. Their Offense should be able to move the ball at will against a pretty mediocre Mizzo Defense.
yds allowed 82nd
rushing 83rd
passing 88th
pts 46th

San Fran Bowl:

BC (pk) ****

Just going with the healthier team. BC has also won 3 bowl games in a row. Knight (RB-BC) should have a big day.

muffin i respect most of your opinions but must disagree on Ark. I love their defense and runninig game but lord help them if they get behind and have to play catch up. And as far as coach Nutt is concerned never has a coach been more aptly named, he is the king of poor clock management IMO. So Hogs are a crap shoot I like them, but just a little.

13-6 Bowls to date

Tough day yesterday, going 4-5 and barely making money. I still can't believe Minny didn't smoke Oregon.

Anyway, a new day(year) has dwaned and we are gonna start it off with some $$$$$$

Florida -3 1/2 *****
Georgia -3 *******
Michigan +7 **********
FSU -1 1/2 *****

Sorry no time for write-ups. Playing the STRONG DEFENSES.

Good Luck to all, and have a Happy and Healthy New Year.
