UPDATE: Brzezinski took to Twitter to clarify her remarks, saying, “Today I said it’s the media’s job to keep President Trump from making up his own facts, NOT that it’s our job to control what people think.” She added, “Of course, that is obvious from the transcript but some people want to make up their own facts. SAD!”
On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-host Mika Brzezinski stated President Trump “could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that is our job.”
Brzezinski said, “I think that the dangerous, you know, edges here are that he’s is trying to undermine the media, trying to make up his own facts. And it could be that, while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that is our job.”

No, its not Your Job to Control What People Think. The Opposite Really:

You're supposed to Report Facts, Objectively without Bias

(debatably) sort of like a Robot.

In The Sense that you are not supposed to come with a Agenda.

And You are supposed to Report News in a manner that fulfills your OTHER Primary Role, and Reason for Existing:

To Act as a "Checking Function" to keep Politicians from Abusing Their Powers and to make The American People informed, aware of when such is possibly taking place.

Decent Example of that might be when a President ships $400 Million Dollars in All Cash on Pallets under the cover of night to the Main Financial Supporter (Sponsor) of Hamas and other Islamic Terror Groups or when a Secretary Of State sells off 20% of our Uranium to Russia by way of a Canadian Firm who made BANK ($$$$$) offa that Sale of U.S. Uranium then shuffled a Nice Chunk of that Money to that Sec of State and her Ole Man via Fog made in part by The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and Dubai

Didn't do very well at Doing Your Job on those stories, Utter Fail at fulfilling your Obligation to act as a Pretective Force for The American People on THOSE happenings ...and on so so so many other occasions.

But what happened?

The media at least 90% of it is owned by six major corporations. TV, Newspapers, cable, radio... All promoting identical talking points. Talking points that just happen to, by some Remarkable CoIncidence, benefit the 1% and their handmaidens.

I agree with Jimmy Carters statement regarding this country. "A failed Democracy" and with the press as it stands now is it any wonder?

But a magical thing happened- The Internet.

Now we too can use the internet to find the news. There are plenty of us. The MSM does not want the job. And our country needs us. So we must be the press.

We need to look at state and local political activities and examine their relevance to the average voter.
