Here is what is going on.
I am 37 years old and have no children (but 2 awesome dogs and 1 old pissed off cat) and a 32 year old fiancee. This winter we put a plan in place to leave Michigan. We felt it would be sad to live our whole lives in the same state we were born. I had a job I did fairly well at but was more or less burned out and wanted to try something else.
Finacee got a job in Vegas that will be able to pay all of our monthly bills. So that end is covered. The pressure is more or less off on me from a bills standpoint.
I have around 5 different options I am exploring right when I get out there. Most of these have to do with working for and with people that are VERY well respected on these forums (I will go more in-depth with that later as I dont know exactly which one of these options are going to happen or enough about most of them).
There are a ton of smaller reasons for the move but this is what I want to do with my life for the next few years. The goal is too hopefully take my modest bankroll and have it multiply thru the next few years using all the time and resources I will now have at my disposal. I think I have put together a well thought out plan on making this work from all the things I have read and learned the past few years doing this EVERYDAY.
I am NOT some great handicapper who is going to look at the board and go make his plays FOR THE DAY. I have never fooled myself into thinking I was. I like to think of myself as a grinder, looking for any good edge or number I can find. I do know I can make decent money (believe me I am small time) at this game by doing all the little things at it daily. All I am looking for is 1-2% ROI, which isnt overly difficult but it takes a lot of time and effort, both of which I am willing to do. I will still be playing mainly offshore but want to be in Vegas for numerous other reasons also.
I have done fairly well at this the past 2 years doing this at home with 5-10 outs and a few hours a day. The reasons I feel I can grind out a profit are: with 20+ outs now, working part time with a syndiacte group, having full time to focus on getting the best number all day, looking at some of the smaller markets that I think can be exploited, learning new tricks from others, having the extra time to move money around to get extra bonuses offerd at books from time to time, more or less working full time at this. My goal is to put enough volume thru the books that 1-2% will be worth my time in the end.
Anyways that is the scoop for now. I have a lot more on my plate that I havent got into yet. I have been doing this (betting) pretty much full time for the past 2 years but now I can take it up another notch or so. Worst case scenario I lose my bankroll and I move in with Green Doberman, heck his life seems fun so maybe that isnt a bad thing, LOL.
I could go on and on about this but this pretty much sums it up. If anyone has any questions fire away. Bottom line this is what I am passionate about in life. With no kids, an excellent support system, knowledge, a decent bankroll and solid "Vegas" contacts we felt I have as good a chance as anyone at making money at this, so we said why not do this. This is what we want with our lives right now so away we go. I have and will contine to put 100% into this and my fiancee will put 110% into it also and that helps tremendously.
In the past I have always liked the "I am thinking about moving to Vegas" threads that pop up here from time to time. I guess it is now my turn!!!
