I'd like to hear some opinions on motivation for these two teams. I've been reading about whether Arizona shows up to play Minnesota. Really why wouldn't they?

Sure they've got no shot at homefield advantage, but don't they still have a chance at a first round bye if they're the 2nd seed? Certainly the Giants want to win as well to secure that homefield advantage.

That being said thus far I like Atlanta, Arizona and the Giants-- Haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet, but those are my leans.

Sometimes it is better for teams to play and playcall a little looser... Therefore its an unknown if they bring their best effort.
I think ARZ and NYG will come hard;
hell Giants may come win GUNS litterally loaded!! :ohno:

The Giants are a team who knows the value of playing and finishing out strong, even though they lost to New England last year they brought it, and that game is probably the reason they became the Super Bowl Champs!

giants dont need this game. next week they host carolina in what will likely determine the number 1 NFC seed. their motivation cant be too high as having clinched this early your biggest fear becomes injuries.

with jacobs out already and the cowboys only - 3 at home ? wow. at the beginning of the year this line would have been at least and TD. dallas isnt a bad football team. early injuries, a killer division, 1 bad road loss and 2 road losses vs the best team in the AFC possibly and the best in the NFC.

if i am the giants i might play all my starters 3 quarters and if the game isnt there to be had, pull em and get ready for next week. dallas winning doesnt matter to them and it sort of doesnt give them the mental lift of having beat you if you pull a couple key guys early. a team like dallas with all their talent gets that mental edge back they can do damage ( just as NYG did last year )

cant imagine them not making the playoffs and for that to happen they have to get this one for sure.

Casey -

The Giants hate the dallas cowboys. Justin Tuck was man enough to say that in the media. What better way to suck it to your enemy than to knock them out of the playoffs?

Dallas is the biggest threat to the Giants in the playoffs IMO, followed by the Eagles.

You're way off here.

Giants WANT this game... they want to destroy Dallas. C-Gold is right on the money. Beating Dallas in Dallas is something the Giants would love to do and we all know they're the class of the NFC. This is a team that only gets stronger when people doubt them.
Jacobs is out? Big deal. They still find a way to win. They're a TEAM which sadly, Dallas is not right now.
Terrell Owens is starting shit again, almost demanding more catches.
Jerry Jones is laying it out on Marion Barber

Basically I don't see how you could possibly pick Dallas here. They're not the better team and now the internal conflict will finish them off.

Coughlin will only rest his players when the game is sealed. He's not going to worry about next weeks game until he has to. This game comes first, and it would be bigger for the team to beat Dallas in Dallas than to beat Carolina who they would beat in the playoffs rather easily.

I don't understand how you can think the Giants have no problem losing to Dallas.

Arizona had very little, classic letdown spot. Giants are in major trouble of losing the 1 seed, even if they win tonight.

They have the motivation, but Dallas is playing for their season every week.

Anyone who says the Giants won't play hard today has never seen an NFC East game. The NFC East is the most well contested division year in and year out and all these teams hate each other. The Giants absolutley despise the Cowboys and understand how important it is to finish strong.
