Hey guys,

It's been a while and haven't posted forever.

What are the most famous sportsbooks that stiffed customers or went busto?

Only 'big' one I can really remember was BetonSports back in the day

this list is not complete until aces gold is numero uno.

They were a hole in the wall.
Not big at all outside of forum land.

i beg to differ. between them and their credit book, sportsmarket, they had some
big figures. i once saw the amounts owed when they were closed, they were
posted on some forum, and those figures were pretty gruesome.

BTW, don't forget the dunes sportbook run by the infamous
peter l. he ran both the dunes sportsbook in vegas and in costa rica
before they both went belly up. must of been a coincidence.

that seems like a short list. If that's all there was, I might suggest it's not has bad as the perception many of us seem to have

who was the dude that got busted? what house was his?

Aces Gold was HUGE. What was a total Forum Book that closed and stiffed was BetCamelot. It was the BetIslands of it's day, a Book started by a long time, "trusted" poster that used his forum rep to steal thousands of dollars from players when his Book folded.
Another Popular at the time Book that stiffed was New Age Bets(NAB).

Don't forget BetPanAm. They came around exactly at the same time as BetJamaica. There was much debate as to which was the better shop at that time. Pan Am was highly touted, made a pretty big splash and then was gone in the Panamanian sunset with the $.

Many of us "Old Timers" got beat up with Bet Panama, I remember the hype Shrink gave it and the parade that was had when they opened shop here at the RX, the parade lasted about a year and then it was a Funeral Parade and if not mistaken the accounts were taken over by BOS, and then they got pinched, it was at that point I said my off shore accounts would be limited to a few and now it is very recreational for me and that is it.............

Careful with your balances

It would be very prudent to manage your bankroll in a very conservative fashion.

Second warning.

BP,
Enough of your lovefest with Mark Del. AKA Cums alot also known as cockingasnook() camelot

That jerkoff had me on the phone with him, the very day before he took off, trying his best to entice me to send him some more $.
Good guy? My ass. More like a moronic swindler who thought that he was smarter than everyone else, who turned out to be one of the stupidest makers to ever grace the offshore industry, and that's saying a lot.

My bad.

I had aces gold and Pan AM mixed up.
Don't know why I did that but I did.

WSEX gotta be biggest no?

Back in the early aughts they were arguably the #1 book for a little bit. Still remember watching the 60 minutes of that Cohen guy talking about the legalities of how they were in Antigua, the WTO challenge and how he can't comeback to America. This was right when online gambling was starting to grow.

Granted they were nothing by the time they finally stiffed but they were 1 of the original big online books.

WSEX was my personal biggest loss by alot, followed by the BOS Family. I never signed with BOS itself, but was stuck in some of the books they took over. Overall, I'd guess the BOS family was the biggest stiff job,. They were an advertising Juggernaut. At least they gave back 4 cents on the Dollar##). WSEX was a total stiff, and it was hard to get money out of there starting right after the Frist Screw Job with the UIGEA.

Never played with BOS but they advertised a ton on the radio here back in mid 00s. I remember they even had someone who worked for the book talk to the hosts and be like "BOSTON IF YOU WANNA BACK AND SUPPORT THE SOX TONIGHT THE LINE JUST MOVED DOWN TO -130" circa the Sox/Yanks '03-04 cold war. Was pretty funny...
