Anyone else??

I won't quote rumors because that just spreads them more, but what I've heard is enough to worry me.

I'd be willing to BET that Big Nasa will be moving part or ALL off of its operations!

they have alot at stake

Why? Because they can't use some shitty bank and they have to pay a *miniscule* tax?

Some of the smaller books may "re-domicile" or run unregistered to avoid paying the tax, but it is pocket change to NASA.

In fact, the rumor I've heard is that NASA has always been pushing for formal licensing in Costa Rica in order to push out their smaller upstart competitors.

If NASA leaves, it has to be for other reasons.

The association thingie has been pushing for this tax for a long time now. I was actually given a letter that was sent to one of the politicians here where they claimed it would be a beautiful thing to tax everyone. 'the association'....

Hey -SLIM-

Is there any chance you can forward that letter to me, bro? A fvcking beauty I bet

Walk, when we went to the Asamblea legislativa months ago, someone gave it to me, we sneaked downstairs and photocopied it in the fax machine. I think I still have it at home though, I'll see if I still have it and if so I'll type it up.

I wouldn't make that bet with you, Shrink. I am hearing the same thing from top people at NASA.

those taxes are chump change to bigger books. if low rate casinos aren't moving, what makes you think that a goliath like NASA would move?

if it was just the tax, I know for sure most books would stay, but now they're freezing bank accounts... it's starting to become an inconvenience. I'm sure the U.S. government has been pushing our government, and I'm sure our government would rather kiss up to Uncle Sam, than to bookmakers and us (sportsbook employees). I really hope they stick to the tax, and provide a friendly environment, because we have a lot to lose if the books move out.

Ryder, I heard that BCR is safe for sportsbooks too, but for how long? I hope what happened with Banco Nacional is not a warning for what's coming in the future.

Mr. Muny,

I don't know why he used such a dumb expression but basically it's a good point. NASA and those other people by the airport under pay and that keeps the average rate of pay in the country lower than it should be.
