At this rate he'll be down to the Pocket Fisherman and those Ginzu knife ad spots. Interesting to see how long FOXNews will depend on their other 23 hours to make up for Beck's drag

Walmart, CVS, Best Buy, GMAC Among 8 Major Companies To Pull Ads From Glenn Beck Show

Walmart, Best Buy, CVS, and GMAC are among eight major advertisers that have confirmed pulling their advertising from Fox News' "Glenn Beck" program in light of his comments that President Obama is a racist.

The advertisers did not pull their spots from Fox News, but rather requested that their ads do not air during Beck's 5PM program.

The advertisers in the latest round of pull-out from Beck's show and their statements to ColorOfChange.org:

* Allergan (maker of Restasis): "We reviewed our commercial schedule, and based on your feedback, we've put any programming featuring Glenn Beck on our "do not air" list. This means that you will no longer see any Restasis ads during programming featuring Glenn Beck. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention."
* Ally Bank (a unit of GMAC Financial Services): "Ally advertises on a broad spectrum of programs to reach our potential customers. Our advertising is not an endorsement of editorial content on any program. We have ceased to advertise on the Glenn Beck program."
* Best Buy
* Broadview Security: "Given the considerations, we have requested of Fox News not to include us in the rotation that would have our commercials running on Glenn Beck's show."
* CVS: "While advertising on Fox is part of our communication plan, we had not requested time on Glenn Beck's show specifically. We have instructed our advertising agency to inform Fox to ensure Glenn Beck's program is not part of our advertising plan."
* Re-Bath: "...We are no longer airing our commercials on the Glenn Beck Show..."
* Travelocity: "We did not specifically place our ad on the show. We buy ads in bulk and then they are placed somewhat randomly. However, we have now specifically asked that our ads do not appear during this show."
* Wal-Mart: "Walmart today confirmed the retailer pulled ads from the Glenn Beck show on August 3rd,"

These companies join a growing list of advertisers to pull their ads from Beck's show, including ConAgra, GEICO, Lawyers.com, Men's Wearhouse, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, RadioShack, Roche, SC Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Sargento, and State Farm Insurance.

since Fox hasn't lost one penny, I'm not sure they need to make changes

2,000,000 in daily revenues (WAG) - 0 (lost revenues) = 2,000,000.

If Beck's ratings are high, he'll get advertisers. It's the way of the world.

I suspect Fox might advise him not to call the retard a racist, I would suggest race baiter.

yeah i'm sure the Fox News Channel is very concerned :):)

“Fox News Channel continued its cable news dominance in July not only beating CNN and MSNBC combined, but showing the most growth in the younger demo. In A25-54 viewers, FNC is up 48% in total day, and up 70% in primetime, compared to July ‘08.”
“FNC had 9 of the top 10 shows in cable news in Total Viewers and ranks as the third most-watched basic cable channel behind USA and TNT.”
Highlights:
  • The O’Reilly Factor is still #1 and is up 37% from a year ago.
  • The Glenn Beck Show is up 120% over the 5 pm slot on FOX from last year.
  • Hannity is up 41%.
  • Greta Van Susteren is up 60%.
In Primetime Viewer Averages:
FOX: 2,071,000
CNN: 1,127,000
MSNBC: 738,000

If we could just get 1% of those viewers posting up at RxForum sponsors, we could probably get much better moneyline prices overall.

Color of Change's Phony "Boycott" Continues to Unravel

Following on the heels of yesterday's denial by Best Buy of claims by Color of Change that they pulled their ads from the Glenn Beck program, today 2 more major advertisers denied CoC's take on events.
DefendGlenn.com contacted officials at WalMart in Bentonville, including David Tovar, the representative quoted in Color of change's well-hyped press release. They confirmed that WalMart, which was not even a sponsor of Glenn Beck's show on FoxNews Channel to begin with, has pulled its ads from ALL CABLE NEWS TALK SHOWS as of August 3rd, as a direct response to this "controversy". Tovar stated their reason for pulling all ads from "commentary broadcasts" was to "avoid polarizing our customers". This includes CNN and MSNBC. ALL PULLED.
DefendGlenn.com has also spoken to officials from Procter and Gamble, and Sargentos. P&G said they have NOT pulled ads because they never advertised on Glenn Beck to begin with. In addition P&G said they would be "restricting our advertising to daytime lineups" in an attempt to "avoid controversy". While Sargento, whose brand-destruction by its own public relations reps has been well-documented here, has now said they will also be yanking ads from MSNBC and CNN "talk personalities" as soon as it can be "arranged".
Great work, Color of Change, you are killing the struggling shows like Hardball, Ed Show, Anderson Cooper 180, and Maddow, in addition to the once-strong brands such as Olbermann, which is now hemorraging viewers, by yanking their few high-paying advertisers away from them.
Meanwhile FoxNews continues to explode its ratings, and is able to replace advertisers on a moment's notice. For instance, last week, after Men's Wearhouse confirmed that it was joining Color of Change's astroturf fraud, JoS A. Bank Clothiers had ads to replace them on Beck's show only 2 nights later!
As RedState.com suggested this morning, Glenn Beck may indeed be "Obi Wan Kenobi". This boycott is just making him stronger.

SDAWG, you've been keeping a pretty close eye on the various Thread Topics past few days.

What are odds that maybe that Fran broad that used to work for BushCo might be cooking the press releases for that ColorForChange campaign?

And are we going to need Tom Ridge to come in and sort this all out?

i don't know. i like to argue as much as the next fella. not too sure what you're asking me here, made a nice profit on freddie today and decided to treat myself to an early start of drinking, then the pats lost so i'm back to where i started the day -- watching cheers reruns.

funny thing is, wasn't ridge rumored to be a running mate for mccain? reminds me a bit of general sanchez, got the blame of abu ghraib and was not promoted, so he retired and wrote a book critical of bush.

so i don't know. the only thing i like floating in my beer is my liver -- get that lemon outta there.

</TD><TD vAlign=top width=586>Barack Obama's "Green Jobs" czar (one of 42 extra-legal czars), and the founderof the group organizing a boycott against Glenn Beck, is a self-described "black nationalist" and "Communist", who has ties to a former terrorist. Van Jones, founder of "Color of Change", a black militant political activist group, worked as a co-founder and director of the Apollo Alliance, which Glenn Beck recently exposed for its questionable ties to radical left-wing groups. Van Jones worked at Apollo with Jeff Jones. Jeff Jones was a leading co-founder (along with Bill Ayers) of the terrorist group Weather Undergound , who spent time on the run from law enforcement agencies while his group carried out a series of bombings of U.S. government buildings. "Color of Change" began the boycott against Glenn Beck after Beck exposed Apollo Alliance and Van Jones' militant past.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I remember telling barman in a thread about all the czars under Obama and he stated that he would be getting rid of them. It appears there are more than ever.

Actually, Obama appears to be somewhat anti-Czar

He's the first President since Reagan to have dropped the so-called "Drug Czar" from cabinet level status.

Beck's assault on Jones came as Color of Change announced that it had secured commitments from 36 companies who pledged not to advertise on Beck's program, including Wal-Mart and Sprint. However, some of the companies listed as signatories -- including Procter & Gamble and AT&T -- told The Times that they did not run spots on Beck's program to begin with.

While the advertising boycott has generated substantial media coverage, a Fox News spokeswoman said companies that have pulled their ads have merely moved their spots to different programs, so it has not had an effect on the network's revenues.

Since his Fox News show began in January, Beck has attracted a sizable audience with his denunciations of the Obama administration and apocalyptic warnings about the country's direction. Late last month, during an appearance on the morning show "Fox & Friends," he accused Obama of having "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture."

The flap that ensued did not appear to dampen Beck's viewership. This month, his show has averaged 2.25 million viewers, 99% more than tuned in during the same period last year, when the network aired "America's Election HQ" during the time period. And his ratings are up from July, when "Glenn Beck" averaged 2.05 million viewers.

:):)this is working out pretty well for Color of Change

July 26 2007:

OLBERMANN:The outrageous treatment of our injured vets.
GEORGE W BUSH: We owe our wounded soldier the very best care and the very best benefits and the very easiest to understand system.
OLBERMANN: Too bad they're not getting it....the embarrassing news stories of shameful medical treatment and crumbling facilities for badly wounded war veterans...It has gotten so bad that this week two veterans groups sued the government over how it treats injured vets, especially those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.... One lawsuit claims that the VA has a backlog of 600,000 disability claims....

vs Keith Olbermann on the subject of veteran's health care tonight, August 17 2009:

OLBERMANN: Today the President addressed veterans, a segment of the population that already receives public health care, and superlative health care at that....the President promising the vets that their excellent government provided benefits will not change.
Hmmm.
