So if you guys KNEW for a fact that with only 70 bets a year you would hit 64%, (so we raise our Betting stakes significantly.)

could you restrain yourself and NOT bet 500-2000 bets a year? scalping middleing Hitting 53% at much smaller wins.

How many here could would do that?
****************************

the upside, you win virtually the same money, You spend 90% less time capping games/stareing at a computer. More time with family and girlfirend. (boyfriend for some of you).

I have been trying to develope systems to limit my computer time of the last 5 years, I havent perfected it, I think Im close though.

funny you ask this...

i have just now started going with my "strongest play" each day only.... actually ill have one in the nba and one in the nhl...

this has freed up tons of time... i still love the game, aspect but i just dont have hours to spend, nor do i want to spend them...

i wont cut down to 70 plays but have reduced the amount of plays greatly and yes, if im successful, ill be "upping the betting amounts"...

SSI, I think every capper has a few bridges they need to cross, the "TIME" bridge is a fkn Bear!!

As many sportsbooks struggle to set lines, I am concentrating more on the first month of several sports, Then just chillin till next sport begins,,,:drink:

tate, i still love playing every day... i just dont like the work...

im trying to find a program that i can spend about 30 minutes with each day and go with the strongest play, for a much larger amount..

i have no problem going bigger on a single game.... ive never been that great with a large amount of games..

im enjoying my current setup much more and will look to build off it, especailly when the daily grind of baseball arrives.

This is the way to go unless you have unlimited time and some kind of program that spits out +EV winners (a money tree).

The books want the average bettor to bet many games a day. This way the quicker they get addicted and the quicker the bankroll goes away and the quicker they reload.

The way to do it is just follow the sports you like and look at the lines every day. If its college basketball then only follow one or 2 conferences. Follow the whole NBA but watch every game of your favorite team. Games will come up that you feel really good about and you will hit a large percentage of them this way. You only spend maybe an average of 1 or 2 hours a day on it this way but you aren't betting every day, unless you really feel good about a game every day.

The problem with this approach is the itch you get after a loss. Its hard to go 4 or 5 days without betting after a loss. But you have to stay disciplined for this to work.

Yes that darn itch. Sometimes I am just sitting around, bored as hell and want action on a game coming on TV. I have no feeling one way or another so I research the teams for about 15 minutes, maybe 30 minutes. Decide on a team or a total and end up losing these at about an 80% clip. Then I get pissed at myself for getting undisciplined and want the money back that I lost. The itch starts and I double up. These games are lost at a 70% clip. But thats the old me you see ;)

I definitely would. In fact, I have done so, just to a lesser extent. Will probably end up playing 225-250 plays give or take 50 from the start of NFL to end of NBA/NHL. MLB is the wild card and I'm not sure if I will do anything with it (probably not).

As long as you have lots of data from past seasons to back up what your betting (at least 500 plays, preferably 1-2000), then betting more on less volume is the way to go, IMO.

The First big leap for me is going from 3-6 games ina day!!! lol to 1 game a day(about 3-4 years ago). this last year I made, and am Making, my final leap to periodic plays in several sports the first 1-2 months of each season. Anyway, There are several ways to become a successful capper, and I believe this is one,,

Restraint,,, that is the achilles heel for every capper.

thanks for the comments,

Betting more on less volume is what I have been doing for the past 30 years.

What I found out is the more bets I make the closer I get to 50%. The less bets I make the closer I get to 55%. A simple correlation.

I'm sure all of you that gamble daily are aware of the following phenomenon:
Monday: Win.
Tuesday: Lose
Wednesday: Lose
Thursday: Win
Friday: An excellent, bet a natural that you say, "wow this is a lock". Wins at a rate of about 60%. You say :Man I should just wait for a bet like this." Win.

That natural bet comes about once or twice per week NBA NHL MBL NFL NCAA. Its the bet that bails us out,

If you make the decision to gamble to make money, you'll cut back and wait for the natural

If you gamble for action, you wont be able to wait, in which case you are guaranteed to lose money and you should consider betting $5 per game.

I might add that you should still only be betting 0.5%-2% of your total bankroll. If your betting more than that, well it won't be long until your bankroll takes a dangerous hit.

I personally stick with 1%. Money management is #1 before anything else.

Another thing I can add, is don't watch the games or the score! Unless you are looking for a play at half time, what's the point? It is just going to effect you emotionally and you will be more prone to making dumb mistakes. Now, you can watch a game every once and a while, but don't make a habit of it. That is, if you are betting sports to make money or just for the rush. Your call.
