Monday picks 1/18

Purdue -20.5 - Purdus is still one of the best teams in the country on the defensive side of the ball. They sit at 9th in ppg allowed, 3rd at fg% allowed and 23rd in defending the three ball. They also are in the 81st in scoring, 66th in fg% and 27th at the free throw line so hey can score. They also rank inside the top 15 in rebounding on both sides of the floor. Along with the fact that Rutgers doesn't rank better than 218th in any offensive shooting stat and are 271st and 264th in ppg allowed defensive fg% I don't see Purde having trouble pulling away. Rutgers has been getting blown out lately and don't see that changing here. With Purde only 40% favorite from what I see and the line starting to move up I'm gonna take them in this spot. Oh, and Rutgers is 314th and 203rd in rebounding. That's not going to give you very many second chance opportunities going against one of the best rebounding teams in nation. Visa Versa the boilermakers should have second chance points all night long I'm hoping.

I wanted to play them, but just couldn't give up that many points on the road in a big 10 game. Purdue should beat them by 30 if they stay focused and coach Painter doesn't call off the dogs. I was worried that he might not want to risk injury to the key players and play (give) the bench a lot of work. If Rutgers hangs around the first half then I might hit the Boilers up for a 2nd half play. What really scares me is sometimes when teams get that big lead they stop transitioning and work on set plays.

Everything you said makes sense United and very well could come into play. Rutgers also sports 9 freshman and I do believe honestly that if the dogs are called off that Purdues bench can still pull away slightly or keep th game where it's at at the least. With strugglinh Ohio St on deck I don't see Purde looking ahead too much either. I think Purdue losing a couple lately will keep them focused here and coach will use this as a confidence booster to get moral back up. At least I'm hoping haha. However, you make good points and half time wager may be a good option. Good luck United. Always respect your plays.

Yes they do Money. Rutgers have lost four straight by 20+ and only one came to a team that may be better than Purdue. Granted three of those games were away from home I just don't see how with Purdues size and defensive capabilities against a team that struggles so badly offensively how they don't win by 20+. The only way this happens in my eyes is if they allow it to and after getting it handed to them at Illinois Purde should stay focused. Let's not forget the last time they got beat by Iowa how they bounced back. I'm hoping for this same type of performance Money. Let's get em buddy! Good luck.
