5-2-1 yesterday.
Really stepping out on this one here (at least a BIG one for me).
Pittsburgh (+3) 5*
If I believed in this Game of the Year tout crap, this would be my MNF GOY.
Pitt comes in off a bad loss but almost 2 weeks to prepare for this one.
The public and all the so-called experts in the media are all over the Lightning Bolts after their win in New England and their rout over the Giants (my strongest Sunday Night Play to date).
The Giants did move the ball a lot on them in that one. They got behind and had to throw a lot but during the first couple of drives, Tiki was gaining tons of yards.
The Bus is back and Duce is somewhat healthy and Willie Parker will still carry the majority of the load. I think Big Ben will also have a good night tonight against the NFL's #23 defense. Hines Ward is very physical and Quentin Jammer is a gambler on the corner. I expect a few penalties (Illegal Contact and Pass Interference) to be called on Jammer and Sammy Davis tonight.
Steelers are very good at ball control and they should be able to limit LT's touches by keeping him off the field.
Brees is prone to forcing passes and the Steelers were #3 in the league going into this weekend (+7) in TO Margin. They bat a lot of the balls on the DL and their LB's and Safeties have good hands and good instincts to pick those passes off.
For trend players, the Steelers are 16-4 ATS as dogs in October L20 tries and 9-1-1 ATS vs. the Bolts.
Cowher is 33-21-2 ATS as a Road Dog in his 14-year career. They are also 7-2 ATS off a SU loss L2Y.
The Chargers are tough and they did bust the Pats in the mouth, but the Steelers are the most physical team they have played (including a banged-up Pats team).
In terms of coaching, pretty even, but I would take Cowher over Marty.
