Anyone think this line is a little high at Illinois (-23.5)?

They had one win by a big margin against Georgia and suddenly they are laying 23.5 points? Seriously? Hawaii isn't at Illinois level, but they aren't 23.5 points behind them.

Hawaii has the worst backcourt in the country.

Wouldn't surprise me to see the Bows in the 30s in this game.

I've seen them play, I don't think Hawaii is that bad. They're backcourt is shady, but their front court is pretty solid. They've been dominating the offensive glass.

I'm concerned with how they will react on their first game away from the Island.

Illinois is coming off a big blowout Saturday, I can see them falling asleep in this one.. but I can see Hawaii struggling too.

If this was on a neutral court in California, I'd lean toward Hawaii on that line.. but at Illinois? This is dicey game.

Take the points, Illinois doesn't exactly have the best back court either. They can defend well but Illinois is not a complete team. Streaky guard play, very average on the glass, and don't have a lot of dominating size. They are still lacking a back court player who can get to the hoop or create off the dribble.

The assembly hall is not an easy place to play but the Illini should only be favored by 15 IMO. They are a good team but not blowout specialists quite yet. They should improve once transfer guard Alex Legion joins the team in a few weeks.

Will Illinois win? 100%, will they cover 23, probably not. Illinois is a solid team and yes they destroyed UGA, but covering 23 and beating a team you are favored by 9 against are two completely different. In a game like this, the game will be around 10-14 at the half and then the game will hit that lull and the illini win by by about 17-20.

Illinois' offensive style is not the type of team you bet on to cover 23. Yes, they can completely shut down Hawaii, but intensity in games that you know are going to win are never as great in a good anticipated matchup.

Illinois 70-53.

Illinois is a very good team. They play lockdown defense and while their offense is not the most explosive, it is quietly quite efficient. Hawaii will probably cover in this one due to the slow pace that should be anticipated. I would be quite concerned about their turnovers..and if Illinois keeps them off the glass/line (the two strengths of this Hawaii team so far this year) they could cover it. No play for me.

Your points are vaild and if Illinois covers, they win by 25, 26. So you still have a shot regardless.

Many times (not in this instance) I take certain games or totals based the likelihood that if you do get beat it won't be by much, but if you have a certain side, you are probably in it until the end.

Yesterday's KSU-Oregon game, I played the 1st Half Under, because I figured if I got beat it would be by 2 or 3 points. A running 3 pointer at the buzzer and I got beat by 2 points, that happens, but for me it was the correct play as it took a dumb fould with 4.4 left and a guy making both FTs, particularly the 2nd one to give KSU a chance to get a decent shot off and the guy happened to hit it. That happens sometimes and samething with this game. If Illinois covers, it will be by about 2-4 points.

Hawaii +23 is the easy winner here....Hawaii is pretty horrible but they are improving every game and will have stretches where they can look pretty decent.

23 is just too much to give here.....i see them losing by 10-16 pts
