have a sour taste in my mouth from the csu total on saturday. if marist wasnt so goddamn limp that one would have pushed across the number without much of a problem. going to come back with the over in this one. vikings are outclassed in this game and the orange should set the pace. game should stay in the 10-15 range most of the way where csu is in constant catch-up mode but the game should remain semi-competitive where its not likely to turn into a complete blowout. normally id worry about how csu handles the matchup zone but syracuse is just playing at a must faster pace nowadays and vikings should be able to get some easy baskets. something like 80-64 is where i could see this one ending up.

spot-on with the write-up. Cuse probably won't play much zone tonight. Flynn has finally talked Boheim out of the zone. They have been playing much more man to man. This game should go over if Cuse doesn't come out sleeping in the first half like they have in every single home game this year. Cuse can easily get to 85-90 on any given night and I sware opponents gotta shoot close to 80% at the dome. I get sick to my stomach watching teams make ridiculous bad shots against us. It happens every single year and tonight shouldn't be any different. Some guy for CLEV ST will have his career-high tonight as every night SU hosts someone, they have one guy that goes off. Case and point against Cornell (Kid had like 30 something points and like 9 threes) Same thing happened last year against RI when Baron had like 50 points. Go back a few yrs and Pavlovic from Charlotte scorched us for like 40. They always get burned by someone...its just not the aforementioned games. With that being said I'm sorry I'm rambling, but I like the play and am on it for 3 units

Disagree with you on the zone tonight. I think they will remain in zone in most of the night. CSU struggles from deep, as they are around 28% or 29%. CSU will have to prove that they can shoot themselves out of the zone, until that happens, look for the 2-3 all night.

Also, the guys you mentioned have a track record of being able to make shots, particularly 3s. I think this game is a route.

OMG. I bet this early this afternoon at 134, just 20 minutes ago at 135.5 and now it's at 140 at Bookmaker.

Nice.

total just got smacked up from 134.5 to 139.5.
that said, csu total got hit from 119 to 122.5 the other night and the game stayed under the number. definitely feel like the number is climbing to where it SHOULD be though. we'll see. game ultimately played on the floor.

wow all i can say about that game. one of the better ones i have seen at the carrier dome in a while. after watching Bullock in person I can easily say I respect him more than any player I have seen in a long long time. I have courtside seats and was standing next to him on numerous occasions and i was looking down at him slightly. i am just under 6'3. i can guarantee Bullock isn't anything more than 6'2 and thats a fact. but what he did tonight was nothing short of amazing. he single handily willed his under manned team to victory. he DOMINATED the paint against much bigger players. He took 6'9 265lb Arinza Onaku posted him up and took him to school for 3 baskets down the stretch of the game. he had about 6 crucial baskets the last 6 minutes of the game. i haven't been impressed with anyone i have seen live as much as him. it's too bad he's 6'2 and will never play in the NBA because he has a bigger heart than anyone I have seen in a long time.

Great game. Clev St def deserved to win that one. Can't believe i witnessed a 3 quarter court shot that rippped my heart out and stepped on it

bullock is a badass mfer. could have very easily played d-1 football as a tight end. like you said, for an undersized post, he is incredibly efficient mainly because he is jacked and really strong. also a great example of a kid who turned a weakness (shooting) into a strength. he used to be a nightmare from the free throw line and beyond 12 feet. now he can take you outside and present a bit of a threat as an inside/outside scorer.

im obviously surprised csu won the game simply because the cuse, for all their inconsistencies, are still a top 10 team. but then again, its hard to be surprised any time a gary waters coached team plays well. just a ridiculously good basketball coach who prepares teams exceptionally well.

it sounds crazy to say it because their program has been a joke for so many years ... but the horizon is theirs to lose.

Homedawg, I love your analysis and respect your knowledge of college hoops, but when you started the post of the top five teams you stated that the analysis should not include homer sentiments. However, you listed the Cuse as your number four or five team. After watching them lose at home to CSU do you want to change your rankings. Maybe move Pittsburgh into the top five???? GL going forward. As a matter of full disclosure I had the Cuse for 3 units tonight.

well obviously after tonight my ranking would change. why wouldn't it? at that time, and eventually i believe that will be true. there is no denying how talented they are, and what they had accomplished thus far. i thought the ranking at the time was fair. after tonight's loss I would move them down. even though i firmly believe they will go into memphis and handle them
