KEY STAT: France have lost just one of their last 14 fixtures

EXPERT VERDICT: Nigeria kept two clean sheets before succumbing to the brilliance of Lionel Messi and may put up significant resistance in their last 16 clash with France. A low-scoring match is likely but France, who merely went through the motions against Ecuador, should have plenty left in the tank and can make their class count in the second half.

KEY STAT: Argentina are unbeaten in their last eight matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Argentina are just one place above Switzerland on the Fifa rankings but there could be a wide gulf between the sides in Sao Paulo. Lionel Messi is getting back to his best form and that spells dangers for the Swiss, who have looked shaky in defence without injured centre-back Steven von Bergen.

[h=2]2014 FIFA WORLD CUP[/h]
  • Venue: Brasilia
  • Date: Monday, 30 June
  • Kick-off: 17:00 BST

[h=2]TEAM NEWS[/h]France coach Didier Deschamps welcomes back midfielder Yohan Cabaye from suspension.

Mathieu Valbuena could also return to the starting line-up but defender Mamadou Sakho is doubtful due to a thigh injury.
Nigeria forward Victor Moses missed the Argentina game with a muscular injury and faces a fitness test.
Winger Michael Babatunde is out after his wrist was fractured by a shot from team-mate Ogenyi Onazi.
[h=2]MATCH PREVIEW[/h]After loose-lipped talk last week by some members of the France squad that they could go all the way and win the World Cup, expectations levels have since been scaled back by the likes of midfielder Yohan Cabaye, who has wisely warned: "Confidence shouldn't become arrogance because that's when you have problems."

The omens, though, look good for Didier Deschamps' squad as France have reached at least the semi-finals on the last five occasions when they have progressed from the group stage.
Their explosive start to the tournament was tempered slightly by thegoalless draw with Ecuador in which Deschamps made six changes, but they still ended the group stage having had more shots than any other side.

With their first-choice team back in place, their forward line will take some stopping, with the rejuvenated Karim Benzema a man in form.
Nigeria defied expectations to reach this stage for the first time since 1998 but their preparations for this game have been beset by a row over bonuses. It required the intervention of the country's president, Goodluck Jonathan, who provided guarantees that the players would be paid.
On the field, winger Ahmed Musa has established himself as one of the breakout stars of this tournament and his electrifying performance against Argentina saw him make history by becoming the first Nigerian to score twice in one World Cup match.
He terrorised the Argentine defence to the extent that their right-back, Pablo Zabaleta, said: "We are lucky to have Messi, Nigeria is lucky to have Musa".
Coach Stephen Keshi is thrilled with the impact of the 5ft 6in wideman, saying: "I said Messi is from Jupiter, but Musa is from another planet with pace like that."
They also have a weapon up their sleeve in Vincent Enyeama, who is an expert in repelling French forwards. The Lille goalkeeper went 1,062 minutes without conceding a goal in France's top flight in 2013-14, just shy of the league record.
[h=2]MATCH FACTS[/h]Head-to-head

  • Nigeria won the only previous meeting 1-0 in St Etienne in 2009.
  • France have lost two of their last three World Cup matches against African nations: 2002 v Senegal and 2010 v South Africa. They beat Togo between these two defeats, in 2006.
France

  • France have won their previous three second-round matches at the World Cup: 2-0 v Italy in 1986, 1-0 v Paraguay in 1998 and 3-1 v Spain in 2006.
  • They had 62 attempts at goal in the group stage, more than any other side.
  • On the last five occasions that France have progressed past the first round at the World Cup, they have reached at least the semi-finals (1958, 1982, 1986, 1998 and 2006).
  • Karim Benzema has scored nine goals in his last nine appearances for France, including three in three games at this World Cup.
  • All of France's goals during this World Cup have come from inside the penalty area.
Nigeria

  • Victory in this match would see Nigeria reach the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
  • They have only won one of their last 11 World Cup matches.
  • This is the first time two Africans nations (Nigeria and Algeria) have reached the knockout stage.
  • The Super Eagles are aiming to become just the fourth African side to make the quarter-finals after Cameroon in 1990, Senegal in 2002 and Ghana in 2010.
  • Vincent Enyeama recorded the most saves of any goalkeeper in the group phase (18).
  • Joseph Yobo became the first player to reach 100 international caps for Nigeria against Argentina. If he plays against France he will beat Jay Jay Okocha's record of nine World Cup matches for the Super Eagles.

[h=2]2014 FIFA WORLD CUP[/h]
  • Venue: Porto Alegre
  • Date: Monday, 30 June
  • Kick-off: 2100 BST

[h=2]TEAM NEWS[/h]Germany's Mario Gotze is expected to earn a recall against Algeria, with Lukas Podolski sidelined by a thigh injury suffered against the USA.
Bastian Schweinsteiger made his first start of the tournament in that game and could keep his place in midfield at the expense of Sami Khedira.
Full-back Jerome Boateng is expected to overcome a knee problem
Algeria have no reported injury concerns and could be unchanged from the side that drew with Russia.
[h=2]MATCH PREVIEW[/h]Algeria are more interested in making history than dwelling on it, but it is inevitable that the build-up to this match has focused on the furore around their 1982 World Cup exit caused by the unsporting behaviour of Monday's opponents Germany.
Despite beating West Germany 2-1 in their group game 32 years ago, Algeria were eliminated after the Germans contrived to beat Austria 1-0 the following day- a result which ensured both nations progressed.
The game became known as the 'Disgrace of Gijon' and current Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic says the team have spoken at length about it ahead of this match. "We have not forgotten about it," he said. "Everyone talks about Algeria and Germany from 1982."
However, publically at least, Algeria have not spoken of trying to exact revenge in what will be their first ever World Cup knockout game. "We have to make our own history and we have to write our own page," said midfielder Nabil Bentaleb. "Now it's a new story."

Germany coach Joachim Low has been riled by the media talk of the 1982 game, admitting: "I find it irritating when I read that this is a match about vengeance.
"Why should players who weren't even born then want revenge? Maybe some on the other side want to make an issue out of it to motivate Algeria."
Regardless of Algeria's motive, Low is wary of the talented African side and admits his side have to "step up" their performance despite winning their group. He admitted: "The Algerians have proven that they are an uncomfortable rival. Anyone who thinks that an easy opponent is waiting for us in the next round is making an enormous mistake."
A sub-plot to this game is that is falls on the second day of Ramadan, the holy month in which Muslims fast during daylight. Players can lose up to six litres (11 pints) of fluids during a match and so the Algerians have been taking advice on how best to prepare for the game.
While some of Algeria's players have publically stated they will observe Ramadan, Germany's Mesut Ozil has said "it will be impossible for me to take part this year".
[h=2]MATCH FACTS[/h]Head-to-head

  • Algeria have won both previous meetings with Germany: 2-0 in a friendly on New Year's Day in 1964 and 2-1 in the group phase of the 1982 World Cup - which was the first victory by an African team over a European nation at the World Cup.
  • It remains Algeria's only victory over a European opponent at the World Cup in eight attempts (W1, D3, L4).
Germany

  • Germany have only once failed to reach the last eight in their 17 previous World Cup appearances. That came in 1938, when they were knocked out in the first round by Switzerland after a replay.
  • Thomas Muller has scored nine goals in as many World Cup appearances - the same record as Pele after his first nine games in the tournament. Muller has been involved in 13 of Germany's last 23 World Cup goals.
  • If Miroslav Klose scores he will surpass Brazil's Ronaldo as the all-time top scorer at the World Cup with 16 goals.
  • Klose and Muller have scored four World Cup goals in the knockout phase, one shy of the national record held by Helmut Rahn.
Algeria

  • Algeria have reached the knockout stage for the first time. This is their fourth World Cup.
  • The only African nations to reach the World Cup quarter-finals are Cameroon in 1990, Senegal in 2002 and Ghana in 2010.
  • Senegal are the only African side to beat a team from Europe during the knockout stage at a World Cup, doing so against Sweden in 2002.
  • Vahid Halilhodzic's side have scored six goals so far in the tournament, equalling the total number of goals they had scored in their three previous World Cups combined.
  • Islam Slimani needs one goal to become Algeria's outright top scorer at the World Cup. He currently shares the record of two with Salah Assad, who scored twice in 1982.

KEY STAT: Algeria have not kept a clean sheet in their last five matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Algeria celebrated as if they had won the World Cup after reaching the last 16 and they may not have much more to give when facing Germany in Porto Alegre. Germany’s form has dipped since their 4-0 win over Portugal but they are well rested and may find an extra gear in the knockout stages.

KEY STAT: Belgium have kept four clean sheets in their last five games

EXPERT VERDICT: Belgium have won three matches in a row without playing well and face their toughest challenge of the competition against USA, who deserved to qualify from Group G. USA should play with more energy while Belgium are composed and tactically astute but a tight match is on the cards and extra-time may be needed.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 5 RIVERDANCE ROCK 3/1

# 2 SIRTORI 5/1

# 3 PETE'S FLEET 8/5

RIVERDANCE ROCK gets the edge as the bet in here. Rohena will almost certainly be able to get this gelding to break out sharply in this contest. Has been right there at the finish line most every time recently. He has recorded competitive figs under today's conditions and will almost certainly fare well versus this group. SIRTORI - Dalessandro has him trained quite well to break sharply out of the gate. Look for this horse to be close at the finish versus these horses. PETE'S FLEET - He has been travelling quite well as of late while recording strong speed figs. Ought to be given a shot based on the very good Equibase Speed Fig garnered in the last affair.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 6 MESA WAY 2/1

# 9 SCOTCH VALLEY 15/1

# 5 NO BRAG ALL FACT 7/2

MESA WAY is my choice. His earnings per start in turf route events alone makes you take a look at him. The average class fig alone makes this horse a solid choice. Has earned solid speed figures in turf route races in the past. NO BRAG ALL FACT - Is a key contender - given the 76 Equibase speed fig from his most recent race. Is a solid contender based on figs posted recently under today's conditions.

#7 VINDICATED (ML=9/2)
#4 GENERAL WILKO (ML=7/2)

VINDICATED - Centeno rode this mount for the first time in the last race and comes right back in today's contest. I believe this horse isn't a natural sprinter. Routing is his best game and those last two sprints should have him set for a big run today. Another way to determine class is earnings per race. This horse has the top in the group. I think he'll be close at the end. GENERAL WILKO - This colt is in nice condition. Finished first on June 7th. Corrales gets a break on this thoroughbred carrying 6 pounds less than last out. Could make the difference in today's race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 TAX REFORM (ML=1/1), #5 SERIOUSLY SIMON (ML=6/1),

TAX REFORM - This morning-line choice hasn't raced or worked at the track in awhile. No drills since last race. When checking today's class figure, he will have to garner a much better speed figure than last out to compete in this dirt route. SERIOUSLY SIMON - This thoroughbred just hasn't looked sharp lately. Don't believe this vulnerable equine will do much running in today's event. That last speed fig was quite unimpressive when compared with today's class rating.

#11 HOW COME (ML=9/2)
#4 CANDID CATHY (ML=5/2)

HOW COME - Rivera is back for another race today after racing atop this horse for the first try on June 22nd and ought to know the ropes to this one a little better. Took a big class drop last out, and I think she may have needed it. Lake enters her at a similar class today. I'd expect an improved performance. Here is an appropriate handicapping angle that I've used many times before. Play a filly (like this one) getting Lasix for the 2nd time. CANDID CATHY - The jockey and trainer combination have a beneficial return on investment when they work together. Going on Lasix for the first time. While a general handicapping angle, it's still quite important to know.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 HONORABLE PARTNER (ML=4/1), #9 MOON RIDGE (ML=6/1), #3 JOYFUL THING (ML=8/1),

HONORABLE PARTNER - Granted the last race was nice, finishing third. The lack of any recent activity raises some concerns though. MOON RIDGE - This horse likes to finish in the money, but doesn't usually win. Don't put in the top spot. JOYFUL THING - The speed figures are going downward. I'm not throwing a few bucks at this steed off of that trend.

# 5 DUKE OF VEGAS 3/1

# 4 TOUGH CALL 4/1

# 6 PRIZED FIGHTER 12/1

DUKE OF VEGAS is the most respectable wager in this contest. This interesting entrant may have some hidden form, a score would be a pleasant surprise. Have an instinct this one might thieve in this event. Very compelling driver/trainer numbers make this race horse a substantial choice. Very likely will be putting some green stuff down today. TOUGH CALL - When starting from the 4 slot, a well above average win percentage has resulted. Is a formidable win contender given the 83 speed rating from his most recent gathering. PRIZED FIGHTER - Gelding and trainer go together like peaches and cream. They finish in the money 100 percent of their races. Looks like a strong choice in this bunch and his above average winning percentage says he has the raw talent to score in this event.

# 2 ROYAL CAM-HALL 5/2

# 9 DUTCHTREAT HANOVER 3/1

# 7 K C COLT 20/1

Look no further than ROYAL CAM-HALL as the bet this time. He's performing in good form, recording huge TrackMaster Speed Ratings. An excellent selection. This race horse looks dangerous considering the high class rankings. We wouldn't recommend tossing out of any exotics. Many bettors will recognize the excellent TrackMaster Speed Rating in the last outing. Stacks up against any horse in this field of horses. DUTCHTREAT HANOVER - One of the best win figures with this driver-trainer make this gelding dangerous. Have to make Sutton the wager here if only for the last thirty days win clip. Big probability for the victory. K C COLT - Feel the need for speed, this interesting entrant has been turning in some excellent speed ratings averaging around 83. A competitive class horse should not be be passed over. With an avg class figure of 83 all signs point here for the winner.

Northfield: Monday 6/30 Analysis + Pick Four ticket
By Jeremey Day

DRF HARNESS

Race 3 - $7,500 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 8 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Jeremey’s $1 Pick Four Play:

1,3,7 / 3,9 / 1 / 5,6,7,8 = $24

Best Bet: LB’S ALAMERICANJOY (13th)

Spot Play: SOMECAM (7th)

Race 1

(9) CONTESSA LEIGH has more ability than the field if the driver can work out a trip. (6) MYSTERY XPOSED gelding set a lifetime mark last out and would be tough to beat with a similar effort. (1) HOWDY DEWEY well bred trotter has had some tough racing luck and is capable of better.

Race 2

(2) SASSY OSBORNE has a good post and tactical gate speed; threat. (1) SCOOTNFORDAMONEY gets a huge driver change and the rail. (4) HALLIN takes a significant drop in class and also picks up a top driver.

Race 3

(8) WIND SURFER gelding drops out of the open and has been racing much better than his lines show. (1) FULL FORCE didn't miss by much last out to a game opponent. The well bred trotter gets sent out for a hot trainer with a top driver. (9) NORTH BAY HANOVER could have an excuse last out on the sloppy track.

Race 4

(2) ROYAL CAM-HALL has been pacing faster than most of the field and could try and control the pace. (1) DON'T BETREI ME made a miscue last out but had been racing much better since the layoff. (3) FOLLOW THROUGH raced gamely out and looks to be in line for a ground saving trip.

Race 5

(1) FORTUNE SAILOR was no match for the winner last out but has been sharp. (3) HERE COMES BUBBA has no early gate speed which usually puts him at a disadvantage but has been facing better competition. (7) LIFE LONG HANOVER didn't fire last out in the slop but a better effort would put his nose on the wire.

Race 6

In a very tough race to handicap (9) TERROR OF THETRACK has just been racing evenly the last two but had put in some good efforts prior and finds a suspect field. (6) JAY DEAN DEW keeps a top driver and would be a threat with a trip. (4) COACH KEN was very flat last out but does face a softer bunch.

Race 7

(5) SOMECAM went a really tough trip last start but has been going some big miles. (9) T R KILOWATT SAM bumps up in class but has been extremely sharp. (1) TOMMY TWO SHOES faces much easier but has been dreadful at the track; use caution.

Race 8

(1) CHASE THE SUN is back in a barn where the pacer was on fire. (7) HUNCHIE has been facing better and will have thoughts on the lead out of the gate. (3) GOODNITE GOODLUCK had no chance last race from a tough spot but should be much closer turning for home.

Race 9

(9) DECK THE HALLS gets sent out for top connections and just needs to work out a trip for a big piece. (3) ANNIE'S ROCKETMAN four-year-old can fly off the gate and will look to ration out his speed. (5) SUPER LUSTRE was in over his head last start but finds a much more manageable spot.

Race 10

(1) LYONS JOSEPHJNR benefits from the best post and will do everything to take advantage of it. (7) CAN HE GO well bred stallion will need to fire early to have a chance late. (2) DUNGEON DRAGON on paper doesn't fit but has been pacing some really fast miles; use underneath.

Race 11

(6) ACTION-BROADWAY has yet to win on the year but that could change in a hurry facing an easier group. (7) MYTHICAL HALL will be blazing early; threat. (5) JULIANS CAESAR gets sent out for the top trainer in the country and will be in the mix early.

Race 12

(1) RAISE THE GIN was an easy winner in this class last time at this level and gets the best post. (2) UNCLE PAT gets post relief for a hot trainer. (6) THE CLASSIC Z TAM has won three of four starts but does face better and would need more.

Race 13

(8) LB'S ALAMERICANJOY is tons the best in here if he can get over the track for new connections. (9) GENUINE STAR N has been much better in his last two and just needs to work out a smooth trip. (7) TICKLE MY FANTASY is inconsistent at times but does own a good burst of speed.

Race 14

(4) BASILIO BLUE CHIP just missed last start racing gamely and has been much better in a new barn. (1) YOU'LL THINK OF ME goes from the worst post to the best for a hot trainer. (2) CHIPS GALORE had no chance last out but had been racing gamely prior.

Race 15

(2) MOSH PIT well bred pacer was taken out of the race in his last start. The 4-year-old owns a win in this class on the year. (3) RIGHT ON TIME finds a softer spot than his last few; versatile. (1) CAM EAST goes for a new barn but it could be a negative change; use caution.

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: SHES DANGEROUS (4th)

Spot Play: NOBLE FLIRT (2nd)

Race 1

(10) LUCK O THE IRISH will have no easy task overcoming post 10 in his first career start. Trainer Durand qualified this youngster both times and managed to drop four full seconds off his time. (2) I FEEL GOOD comes from the Wayne Henry barn, which is excellent with young trotters. (4) A LITTLE MORE LOVE comes from Hall of Famer McIntosh's barn and this colt by Kadabra won his qualifying effort on June 13.

Race 2

(5) NOBLE FLIRT has been knocking on the door in this maiden class for the past few weeks and is due for her first career win. (2) RUB THE GENIE draws post two and comes out of the Beaver barn, which is excellent with trotters. (4) FASHION GODDESS likely will offer a price in here and has some upside to her.

Race 3

(3) CODE ONE HANOVER was a $75K yearling purchase by trainer and owner Jack Darling. This filly remains heavily-staked this season and appears to be the real deal so far with her impressive qualifying effort. (4) LADY JEN is hard not to consider off her 1:56.4 qualifying win by over eight lengths. (7) SHEEZTOUGHENOUGH has been praised upon all winter by her trainer and co-owner David Menary.

Race 4

(7) SHES DANGEROUS hasn't hit the board in four starts this season, but moves onto this circuit and comes out of the Alagna barn. (3) NARCIAN JEWEL will make her third career start and closed very well in her latest in her division of the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots for driver Mayotte and trainer Macri. (10) DANIKA PATRIX will have to overcome post 10, but is very capable as she demonstrated quick gate-speed on June 2.

Race 5

(2) CARRACCI HANOVER banked over $96K last season as a rookie while competing in the Grand Circuit against the best rookie female pacers in the sport. (9) WEATHER HANOVER comes out of the Austin barn, which has been terrific this season from limited starts. (8) NAKED CITY moved into the Robinson barn last start, which decreased his price and resulted in a second-place finish.

Race 6

(6) SHADIOS put in a sub-par effort in his latest in his division of the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots. This is a wide-open field, but I landed on him based on his starts prior to last week. (7) MEETMEINTHEALLY stunned the public two back with his 1:54 winning effort at 103-1 for trainer Jim Ritchie. (5) RURAL ART comes out of the Mayotte barn and draws better than his past two starts.

Race 7

(7) CLASSIC MARTINE likely will be the public's second-choice when the gates unfold, but I'm going to try her in top spot. She provided the mini upset in the Armbro Flight final on June 14 on this surface and set a world record just four starts back. (5) MAVEN has shipped home from racing in the Elitlopp in Solvalla, Sweden and since then has posted a winning qualifying effort at The Meadowlands. Perhaps the journey overseas and ship to Canada will have an effect on her performance therefore, I'm going to play against her in her fourth start of the season. (8) ROCKIN WITH DEWEY shouldn't get overlooked in here for the triactor.

Race 8

(1) SHARK LEAP HANOVER begins from a good post in this week's contest and will offer a low price once again. (8) CROUCH END has posted back-to-back wins at Georgian Downs by open lengths. (3) ABREATHOFRESHART might offer a price once again at this maiden level, but is worth a look if you're playing the triactor.

Race 9

(9) MELMERBY BEACH was the heavy favourite in his latest in the opening round of this series and disappointed the public with a fourth-place finish. (7) COMPANY MAN hasn't been worse than second in seven starts this season and poses as a top threat again this week. (1) CAPOZZO is winless from five starts this season, but has hit the board in four.

Race 10

(3) COBBLE BEACH made an uncharacteristic break in stride last week at a higher level and recovered very well. Despite not getting a cheque, he paced home in :27 2/5 to be individually timed in 1:51 3/5. (1) BUDDHA BLUE CHIP has been a top threat at this level for many weeks and raced very well in his latest to finish third. (6) TAURANGA comes out of the Tony O'Sullivan barn and has been knocking on the door in each of his last three starts in this class.

Race 11

(6) SUMMONS has been the talk of this condition over the past few weeks with a trip of wins and one second-place finish. (1) BUTTON FLY has been a main threat at this class for many weeks and draws a post one start. (8) THINKBEFOREUSPEAK entered the Dowling barn following a claim on June 7. Since then he's moved onto this circuit and fared out well in his lone start with a third-place finish.

Race 5 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 189 - 552 / $985.30 BEST BETS: 32 - 45 / $105.90

Best Bet: IN THE CLEAR (6th)

Spot Play: DALLENBACH HANOVER (9th)

Race 1

(1) RED CARPET DUDE has closed well in all of his recent efforts. Tonight he lands the rail and shouldn't let the opportunity pass. (3) PANDA MAN was used hard in the early stages last week and folded up late; toss that effort and he's right there with these. (2) FUTURE CHARACTER has plenty of class and would attract more attention with a catch-driver.

Race 2

(6) SPACED OUT exits series action at Tioga where he showed a win three back; he looks as good as any in here. (3) CREDIT TO ELGIN debuts for Brainard and picks up Sears. (8) SMOKE SMORE ships from Minnesota and appears to have plenty of speed.

Race 3

(3) ROCKLINDAROCK raced evenly last out at Philly and was a winner here in her prior start; she's missed a few weeks, however. (6) ROCKNROLL MEG has closed a ton in her two local appearances. (4) WINE N MCROSES debuts for the Andrew Harris barn but she's also missed time.

Race 4

(8) STORMONT LANCELOT free-falls in class and has plenty of ability; Sears should be attempting to leave with the veteran tonight. (4) TAGMEISTER finally exits the Billing series and gets a catch-driver in the bike. (7) BAMBINO HALL has also been facing better and hails from the live Julie Miller barn.

Race 5

(1) NORTHMEDO WINE GUY broke last out but his prior effort was good; maybe. (2) RAILEE KWIK has been totally empty, but so have the rest of these. At least he draws well. (3) BACK FROM VACATION may be ready for another vacation after his latest dull effort.

Race 6

(1) IN THE CLEAR held very gamely after a long uncovered trip last out and he deserves top billing based on that effort. (7) WELL DID may never win a race but he should hit the ticket. (5) I AM WILL ships from Tioga for Fluet off a very encouraging debut.

Race 7

(5) BEAUTIFUL LADY held for a board spot after a tough two-move effort last out; filly debuts for Fraley tonight and she looks like she can handle these. (1) LIFE OF SMILEY has just raced evenly in her two local appearances. (2) JANINNE was a solid pocket-sitting winner versus lesser for the Stratton brothers.

Race 8

(4) SAILING CRUISE kicked home nicely last out to be second best. Veteran has loads of class and appears overdue. (5) MISSISSIPPI HIPPY finally showed some signs of life in last and he can improve off that effort. Note that John and not Kevin McDermott is now the listed trainer. (2) CHEYENNE JEFFREY never wins but he does have speed and an inside draw.

Race 9

(8) DALLENBACH HANOVER drops in class again and Sears better be firing from this spot. (1) DR C'S Z TAM returns locally and lands the best post; threat. (5) LISTOWEL kicked home nicely last week and he can be a factor here.

Race 10

(2) PAMS LEGACY had good finishing pace through a quick last quarter in his debut for Sabot; gelding should be close enough to strike from this spot. (3) REPORT FOR DUTY N has forgotten how to win but he's always a player with these. (1) DREAMLANDS ART returns locally and is in for tag after two suspect efforts; be careful.

Race 11

(1) SHESAIDHESAIDISAID has shown major improvement in her last two, including a win last out at Philly; tough to overlook from this spot. (2) BREATHTAKING jogged last week versus similar; clearly the main threat here. (5) A LITTLE STARSTRUK could be a closing threat for the Fraley barn.

Race 12

(8) BEST SAID was a well-rated winner upon arrival holding off a decent foe; he may offer some value tonight from the outside post. (2) STAY UP LATE is a stakes-caliber colt from Casie Coleman and Sears drives; one to beat. (3) CHEYENNE SEEBER has evolved into a decent young racehorse.
