MLB uniforms, how many times do players wear each uniform in a game?

......just curious, i mean they play 162 games, they dont wear a brand new uniform each game do they? how many games do they get out of one particular uniform?

They probably wear a new one for each game unless they insist on an old one...

If they rewore them they would not look as crisp...

Also, the # of charities, kids, etc that they can give jerseys to is immense.

Some are superstitious and like the same one. I can't see bench players on the DRAYS having a demand for their jersey. Plus sewing on all the names on the back every day would be time cosuming.

I don't have an exact answer for you but I can at least tell you they definitely don't get a new uniform for each game.

The uniforms are made of very high quality and are washed and re-used as often as possible. I would guess that most players only go through a few uniforms a season.

Last week the Red Sox wore green uniforms to honor Red Auerbach of the Celtics. He had recently passed away. Those uniforms will probably only be worn that one time.

i would figure it is more comfortable with the same one for a week or two at a time. too much cost for new ones often for each player.

I'd say they wear the same one until it gets a grass stain that won't come out or a rip in it. Maybe new ones every month or so.

I do know that they get new cleats once a week. Paul Oneil said it on a YES broadcast once. He also said since he was sponsored by Nike, he used to be able to walk into Nike Town stores and fill up a cart with whatever he wanted and just walk out. That's what he'd give to everyone for birthday's and christmas.

some of those guys like to keep the same cap for a while. seen some real worn ones out on the field before.

They use professional uniform services who will repair, stitch, clean, and starch the uniform as needed. They do not use 162 uniforms a season. Probably closer to 20
