Don't remember a year where so many of the divisions look like they are almost decided before September....

I mean does anyone really think that the Yankees, Twins, Braves, Cardinals, and Dodgers AREN'T going to win their division?

The only one that really seems up for grabs is the AL West, because Texas just wont give up, and the Angels have a lot of bats, plus Colon is starting to pitch better, and the A's are always tough in the second half....That should be a good race....

But the others, may not be mathematically over, but the way the teams that are behind are playing, it might as well be....Boston finally playing well, but it took a sweep by them, and a sweep of the Yankees, just to get back within 5.5 games.....

I dont really think the Yankees will keep losing....

Giants are playing well, but if Schmidt isnt healthy, they can't hang with the Dodgers, and make up ground....

The real races appear to be the wild-cards, and it shows how much that has helped baseball....there would be very few games of interest coming up, if there were no wild card because of the division leads.....

Considering the Bosox are the better team, I would say the division race is far from over.

Having said that however, the Red Sox are still fighting for their playoff lives.

Would you care to put a bettable line on that? Nothing is decided yet...40 games left? Only one I would say is looking decided is Cards. Luckily I am heavy on them. Dodgers 4 1/2 game lead decided? I think one of these leaders will not be leading when the season ends. Best Wishes...OF

but you are right, they have cut into it signifigantly, but that was my point, they may have used up a lot of their effort just to get back close....I mean how often will the Yanks get swept? How often will the Red Sox sweep...

I like the Sox too, i just think they dug a hole just a little too big, and they are probably destined for wild card

Playoffs will be...

Twins at Yankees
Red Sox at A's

Dodgers at Cardinals
Cubs at Braves

Might as well just nap until October.
