MistaFlava's 2008 CFB Record: 22-22-1 ATS (-$3080) 50%

Not the kind of season I was hoping to be having at the midway point but what can you do? My NFL season has been a lot better than my college football as I am up $14000+ in the NFL but down some money here. So what to do? Screw the PS2 and those simulations, I just don't have patience to deal with the hoopla and inconsistency of the system. Now don't forget I am by far the worst handicapper ever on the RX according to some so tailing me or following me could be hazardous. Whatever. This is a make or break week for me because I can be back in the money by the time this is all said and done or I can pretty much forget about my goals for the season. I am optimistic so let's do this.

The goal for the season remains to hit 65% of my plays or hit the 1000 Unit mark.

1 Unit = $100

Week 1: 4-6 ATS (+3.20 Units)
Week 2: 3-3 ATS (-12.50 Units)
Week 3: 2-3-1 ATS (-29.00 Units)
Week 4: 3-4 ATS (+7.00 Units)
Week 5: 5-2 ATS (-16.00 Units)
Week 6: 5-3 ATS (+27.50 Units)
Week 7: 0-1 ATS (-11.00 Units)
Week 8: ---No Plays---
Week 9: Pending

You can tail, you can fade or you can just watch. I have always been a streaky capper. When things are not going well I don't just sit there and watch, I take action and make myself better. Good Luck to all this week!

Temple Owls -3 (5 Units)

:toast:

Most cappers won't touch this game tonight but I won't go a football night without having action on a game and here is what I came up with. Temple is a much better team in 2008 than they were in 2007. In their one and only lifetime meeting, Ohio beat the Owls 23-7 last season as a -9 point home favorite. Well the tides have turned. Both teams have been pretty damn good ATS wise this season with Ohio going 4-1 ATS on the road and Temple going 2-0 ATS in their only two home games. Should be a pretty good game. Temple's defense has been pretty damn good at home allowing only 9.5 points per game on 4.6 yards per play so despite having a better offense than Temple, you can expect Ohio to have their fair share of problems scoring points here. Both teams have sketchy run defenses and Ohio could do some damage on the ground in this game but I'm not too concerned. This is a sloppy game where I don't see either team scoring much so you have to go with the home team who have competed in both their home games going 2-0 ATS but have lost both home games. Time to turn things around. Temple lost to Western Michigan by 4 at home and lost to UConn at home in overtime so believe me when I say they can compete in this place. Lets do it.

I will post the rest of my Week 9 selections on gamedays (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

***PS2 UPDATE***

I will continue running the simulations and posting the results here, compared to my picks. For those interested of course.

MistaFlava, it seems as though you stopped the ps2 similations more because of the haters, as opposed to the similation being ineffective.

It had one bad week and you scrapped it, but when you backtested it, it woulda won the previous 3 weeks. I'm sure you know that no system or strategy can produce a winning week every week.

For the time being I wasn't a big fan of betting on plays I didn't really like myself. So to keep both going, I decided to bet on my own capping picks for now and continue tracking PS2 on the side. For that reason and because of the level of interest, I will post the PS2 simulation results here for the same games I decided to cap and we'll see which ones do better.

I will post tonight's PS2 simulation sometime before gametime.

It's whatever you want it to be, what difference does it make anyways?

OMG, can't stop laughing, LOL. Look, that PS2 thing was working, so you had one bad week. Like someone above me pointed out, you ain't gonna win every week.....if you did, Guido would show up at your front door and shoot you, LOL. You're doing fine my friend, don't let anyone try and tell you otherwise. Peace.

Alright well the PS2 simulation for this game is being run right now. Lets see how it goes. Updated full weather and injuries as well as team tendencies for the season.

When I look back on last week, the PS2 plays got screwed by 3 backdoor covers (well Boise State shoulda been a cover) so the results were not bad.

I will post the result ASAP. Could decide which way I go for the rest of the season.

PS2 SIMULATION

Ohio 17, Temple 14

Again this is going to determine maybe which way I go with this. If the PS2 can hit tonight I might just stick it out for another few weeks in both NFL and CFB since it only really had one bad weekend out of 3 or 4.

This is using the only settings that have been successful.

Lookin' good so far MF. I would tell you to stick with this PS2 thing. You've been good with most of the plays....scary good actually with some of the scores that were predicted and ended up hitting. Stick with it man. GL

The PS2 simulation went as follows:

7-0 Temple
7-7
10-7 Ohio
14-10 Temple
17-14 Ohio

Pretty damn close so far...

It was about 4 years ago and it had some success...but as proved tonight, I don't think the PS2 needs to be continued. Now I don't know that I would be saying the same had Ohio not scored a TD with :20 left in the simulated game to win 17-14. It was actually 14-10 right to the end in the simulation until a last second TD.

Now I'm confused...if it was 14-10 until a td in the last 20 seconds..wouldn't the final have been 21-10 or 14-17 Temple?
