MistaFlava's 2008-2009 CFB Bowl Record: 7-9 ATS (-28.50 Units)

My Power Ratings system went 0-5 ATS yesterday, what a complete disaster and I am glad I did not bet any of those games. I was too hammered to even care last night but that is a rough way to wakeup in the morning and having to quickly cap some more games really early this morning did not make things any easier on me. Anyways I am not one to sit down and not do anything about a system that does not work, I am already back out there looking for the next best things and will post it as soon as I can find it. Systems are great for Bowl Season and I would like to prove that by finding something that has gone almost perfect to date, but I am limited on time.

Anyways time to move on and make some money with the Bowl Season being almost over and all. This is the best time of the year because we all get to start fresh for 2009 and I am kicking things off with one of my power selections to go. CASH MONEY!

1 Unit = $100

OUTBACK BOWL

View attachment 6135

View attachment 6137 Iowa Hawkeyes -3.5 (10 Units) View attachment 6136

I know some of you are going to hesitate here because of the way the Hawkeyes played for the most part of the season but I suggest letting loose and trusting this team because they are definitely 3.5 points better than the Gamecocks in a situation like this. Don't forget that Iowa did not only win those games this season but they went 7-4 ATS in those games and actually made some people cash. IOWA WAS 2-3 SU AWAY FROM HOME BUT 4-1 ATS IN THOSE GAMES and like I said before they played tough on the road and they did what they had to do to stay in games which is what I think will happen here today. The Hawkeyes had to pull a miracle to avoid missing yet another Bowl Season as they won 5 of their last 6 games in the season beating Indiana by 36 on the road, Wisconsin by 22 at home, Penn State at home by 1 to knock them out of BCS contention, Purdue at home by 5 and last but not least their 55 point blowout win over the Minnesota Gophers in their season finale. So like I said this is one of the hottest teams in the Nation right now and this is the time to ride them, away from home and ready to rock n roll. Iowa averages 13 points more per away game than South Carolina while allowing 15 points more in those same games.

South Carolina doesn't really deserve to be in a Bowl Game if you ask me and for those of you hoping to see another LSU-Georgia Tech in this game where the crappier team (SEC team) comes out of nowhere and wins, well that is not happening. South Carolina was only 2-3 SU on the road this season and they went only 2-3 ATS in those games so I don't have much confidence in Spurrier and his boys as they travel to Florida and try to beat a team made for the warmer weather. The Gamecocks beat both Kentucky and Ole Miss on the road this season which is not all that bad but they looked horrendous in their last two road games getting crushed by Florida at the end of the season and then losing by 17 on the road against Clemson in their season finale. As an underdog this season, South Carolina went a pathetic 1-3-1 ATS in those games and like I said before I don't give them many chances to stop what Iowa wants to do in this game. The Gamecocks cannot stop the running game of Iowa on the road and that was evident in a bunch of their road games this season where they allowed opposing RB's to rush for 150+ yards in those games. This is not a team built to come from behind in games and like we have all seen many times this season, I really think South Carolina is going to turnover the ball multiple times and shoot themselves in the foot with stupid plays. You can pretty much lock that up and seal it.

Trend of the Game: Iowa is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games as a favorite of 3.5 to 10 points.

Iowa 24, South Carolina 10

Here is my next selection, my hangover sucks, I should be in bed but whatever, this is more important and it's time to start 2009 with some winning wagers. Here we go:

GATOR BOWL

View attachment 6142

View attachment 6141 Nebraska Cornhuskers +1 (10 Units) View attachment 6143

The Clemson Tigers do not belong anywhere close to the Bowl Season (well that's what a lot of the other experts think) but they did earn their way here after a disasterous season that saw them lose their long time head coach and that saw them lose games they had no business losing. I don't know what went wrong early on in the season when this team lost three straight games to Maryland, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech but what I do know is that they made their way back from that and finished the season 4-1 SU beating Boston College on the road by 6, beating Duke at home by 24, beating Virginia by 10 on the road and finishing things off with a 17 point home win over the South Carolina Gamecocks. Safe enough to say the Tigers are back to form and they have a few seniors here that are not going out without a bang or so they think, that's for sure. Clemson did nothing important on the road this season going 2-2 SU and 2-2 ATS in those games. I don't know if QB Willy Korn can play in this game after his shoulder surgery but even if he is out, he wasn't going to play much anyways and this team is all QB Cullen Harper's as he plays his last collegiate game and it should be a good one. Harper has much better range and he can hit the guys on the deep routes with a lot more accuracy despite the 12 interceptions he threw this season. I think this is Harper's game to lose. My big issues with Clemson in this game is the fact that when Harper goes down early in a game, he tends to try and do to much to get back in the swing of things and that is probably what is going to happen here. I see him throwing interceptions and making bad calls all day long as the Nebraska defense is going to come up huge in this one.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers come out of nowhere to play this Bowl Game. I mean we just don't hear about these guys nowadays the way we used to hear about them back in the day when they were blowing out opponents and making headlines all over the Country. They once again failed to reach the Big 12 game like many in the program had predicted and just to let you know right now, I think this team is downright pissed about that and this game means the world to them. It means a lot more to the Huskers than it does to the Tigers. Does this team even know how to win games on the road against decent opponents? I mean their two road wins this season came against Kansas State and Iowa State (two teams who are nowhere near the Bowl Season right now) and their two road losses were blowout losses at Texas Tech and Oklahoma so I don't know what to think of this team. I do know however that when they want to be a good team they can be a good team and they were 3-1 ATS on the road this past season. QB Joe Ganz is a stud and he can put some serious points up on the board with his great arm. Despite playing in the Big 12 North where its easy to pad your stats and have huge numbers, I think Ganz would do well against this Clemson defense because he is fast and you have to be fast to beat them. Nebraska did have the best win loss record of the North Division which is why they believe they were the best team there and should have been the ones to take a shot at Missouri but they got the better Bowl Game in the end and this is their time to come out and seek vengeance for the disappointment. Nebraska can score points and I think they can score at will against this Clemson defense that has allowed a grand total of only 21 points in their last three games but if you check who those games were against and if you check circumstances you wiill know what I mean. NEBRASKA HUGE TODAY!

Trend of the Game: Clemson is 1-4 ATS in their last five Bowl Games.

Nebraska 34, Clemson 24

Alright here is my third selection of the game, I need to make some breakfast after this so I can feel better and what sucks the most is I have to be back at work at 8:30am tomorrow morning. WTF. Here we go:

CAPITAL ONE BOWL

View attachment 6144

View attachment 6147 Michigan State Spartans +9.5 (10 Units) View attachment 6146

I don't know about you guys but did you not all learn your lesson in the Northwestern-Missouri game earlier this week when two ranked teams faced each other with a huge spread like this one? Cmon...wtf how does Michigan State deserve to be underdogs of this many points anyways? The Spartans are not that much worse than the Bulldogs and I just don't agree with this right here. You can hate on Michigan State all you want and I understand because they did not do much in terms of cashing in ATS for us this season but they did go 3-2 SU away from home and they did go 3-2 ATS in those games. Their season finale was a bit of a disaster as the Spartans got their asses handed to them by the Rose Bowl bound Penn State Nittany Lions but prior to that loss this team had won 8 of their last 9 games as they beat Notre Dame by 16 points, Iowa by 3 points at home, Northwestern by 17 points on the road, Michigan by 14 points on the road, Wisconsin by 1 point at home and Purdue by 14 points at home so it's not like this team is not battle tested and I really think they can come out and make some noise in this game. Georgia has allowed some big ass plays through the air on the road this season and despite QB Brian Hoyer's lack of football smarts on the football field, he does have an arm to beat this secondary and he does have the receivers to get open deep. I really like Michigan State in this game.

The Georgia Bulldogs have been a complete disappointment all season long and although a lot of their backers in this game are giving them one last chance hoping they drank the same kool-aid LSU drank last night, I just don't see that happening. The expectations for LSU were not big coming into the season so their season was not considered a disappointment. Georgia on the other hand is supposed to have the most NFL ready QB in the Nation in Matthew Stafford and they were supposed to play in the SEC Championship Game with a chance to play for the BCS Title Game had they won out on most of their season. Well none of that happened as the Bulldogs finished with a 9-3 SU loss record which is two losses more than they were supposed to have if they wanted a chance. The Bulldogs were embarassed in their final two home games of the season, once by Florida in a complete blowout loss and once by Georgia Tech, a team they were not supposed to lose to ever at home or on the road. So once again for those of you giving the Bulldogs one last chance on the ATS front how about I remind you that these guys went a pathetic 3-7-1 ATS this season and I just don't see their interest in this Bowl Game. LSU was a bit different because they were sick and tired of being called underdogs left and right late this season but Georgia is once again favored by way too many points in this game and you can pretty bank on another ATS loss for these guys. Michigan State's defense will probably get rocked here but their offense won't have problems keeping them around.

Trend of the Game: Georgia is 0-6 ATS in their last six games as a favorite.

Michigan State 28, Georgia 27

***PLAY OF THE BOWL SEASON***

I am so sick of hearing about how Ohio State came to Southern California and got their asses handed to them earlier this season because at no point in the entire regular season did Ohio State look better or play better than Penn State and the two teams are completely different. Joe Paterno is still coaching football for a reason and he has this program back on the rise. I mean these guys were one bad game away from making it to the BCS Championship Game so you cannot overlook that and you cannot say the Nitts are not interested in winning this game. This is their BCS Championship Game, right here and right now. Had it not been for that stupid loss to Iowa back in early November, the debate for the BCS Championship Game would be an intense debate and things would be a lot more complicated than they are. Apart from winning all their game but one this season, Penn State also went 3-1-1 ATS away from home and this is where they seem to play their best football. Despite all the USC fans that are going to be in obvious attendance, word is out there that half the stadium is going to be in white as Penn State fans have chewed up a bunch fo tickets. This game is going to be all about defenses and with two of the top defenses in the Nation going at each other, you have to like Penn State's chances in the running game against this USC run defense. I am concerned that Penn State has covered the spread only 1 time in their last six games as underdogs but this is their time to shine and Joe Patterno is officially back in business.

I love the USC Trojans and always have but that doesn't mean I am going to back my team here because I have learned my lesson in the past and Penn State has the same kind of playmakers as Texas had a few seasons ago when those two teams met for the Championship Game with USC favored in this stadium. I mean once again Pete Caroll and his guys got screwed in the BCS Championship Game selection process as they were left out of the Title Game and sent to the Rose Bowl instead and you know what...I think that is going to have some sort of impact on how the Trojans come out here and perform. I mean on one side of the ball you have Penn State who also got screwed but are still happy with the kind of season they had and are happy to be here with a chance to win this game. On the other side you have USC who has been screwed out of a title chance in two of the last three seasons so why the hell would they be that interested in preparing for this game? Yes they are a good program and all so they should always be prepared but that loss to Oregon State really bothers them and playing away from their home stadium was a small problem for the Trojans this season as they finished only 2-4 ATS in those games. USC can blowout just about any team in the Country but they are going to struggle a lot more against this Penn State defense than they did against the Ohio State defense at the beginning of the season. Pete Caroll won't get over the BCS format and that fact alone will cost his team.

Again this is not another Ohio State-USC game like earlier this season and Penn State is not only a much better team than the Buckeyes but they are also more Rose Bowl ready to face a team like USC. The Trojans have covered the spread in 22 of their last 28 games versus non-conference opponents and they are a damn good team but this is just too many points for them to cover in a game where defense and huge plays are going to determine the outcome. Not many teams can say their defense is as good as USC's but Penn State can definitely claim that and they can also claim to have an offense that match every single one of the Trojans score in this game. I heard the sharps are all over the Nitts in this game and although that does make me feel better about my wager, I also want to add that Penn State is another very good team to bet on in non-conference games as they have covered their last five games against non Big Ten opponents. This game will make or break my Bowl Season. Here we go guys. PENN STATE WINS THIS GAME STRAIGHT UP AND PATERNO PASSES OUT ON THE FIELD AFTER!

Trend of the Game: Penn State is 5-0 ATS in their last five non-conference games.

Penn State 31, USC 24

ORANGE BOWL

View attachment 6151

View attachment 6153 Cincinnati Bearcats -2.5 (25 Units) View attachment 6152

I was going to take Virginia Tech in this game here today but the ACC Conference Champions are due for a letdown and it will probably come in a game where everyone in the world seems to think they should be the favorites. Here is how I break it down. Yes Frank Beamer and his boys know a thing or two about playing football and winning big games but did you all see Boston College suck ass in their Bowl Game yesterday? So the win in the ACC Championship game doesn't mean much to me and I think the Hokies and the entire ACC Conference are a little bit overrated. That should show here today in this game. This is the same Virginia Tech team that despite going 9-4 SU this season, went only 5-7 ATS and did nothing to make money for their backers on the year. The Hokies are in a BCS Bowl Game with 4 losses on the season and although they did play in the best conference in all of college football this season, I kind of think other teams would have been a better fit for the BCS than these guys. Apart from wins at Nebraska and in North Carolina against the Tar Heels, Virginia Tech really did not look good away from home this season as they went to Miami Florida and lost and also went to both Florida State and Boston College only to lose those games as well. I know Tyrod Taylor can move the ball and get some yardage on the ground in this one but when it's time to pass, you know we are going to see some of Sean Glennon and throwing the ball against this Cincinnati defense is a big time mistake. They have the best secondary in the Nation and they are going to pickoff Virginia Tech at least 2-3 times in this game to change the complexion of the game for good. I like the Bearcats defense.

Cincinnati is not a team many people know about or are willing to know about because they play in the Big East, a conference that gets no respect whatsoever no matter what they do and who they beat. The last time we saw Cincinnati was in Hawaii on the final weekend of the season as they were favored by only a touchdown and almost lost a game that meant absolutely nothing to them as they had already clinched the Big East Title the week before with their win and their head to head with West Virginia. Having said that, the Bearcats grinded things out and showed some character in coming from behind and avoiding the embarassing upset at the hands of the Island boys. Cincinnati deserves to be in this game because they have come a very long way from a few seasons ago. They have a new QB in Tony Pike who has been outstanding all season and who has thrown 18 touchdown passes to only 7 interceptions. The Bearcats had some impressive in conference wins this season as they beat West Virginia on the road and beat teams like Rutgers and South Florida at home. Their only two losses this season were against Oklahoma (which is understandable) and Connecticut, a game they for some reason did not show up for. I still think the Bearcats will own this game because they have the bigger playmakers on the defensive side of things and Virginia Tech has been susceptible to long passing plays against all season long when playing away from home. WR Marshwan Gilyard is a big time deep threat for the Bearcats and he is going to tear apart this Hokies secondary and make some huge plays when Pike puts the ball up on single man coverage. I really like Cincinnati in this game guys.

What makes me laugh is that two seasons ago when these two teams met, Cincinnati was a 27 point underdog in early September, a game they lost but covered the spread in. About two years and a few months later, we are talking about that same Bearcats team being favored by 2.5 points and I don't know that there has ever been such a point differential spread turnaround in such a short period of time. WOW! Cincinnati has a horrendous bowl game run right now as they are 1-6 ATS in their last seven bowl games so I really think they are going to come out of this with the biggest win in program history, a win in the ORANGE BOWL against a very good Virginia Tech team.

Trend of the Game: Virginia Tech is 1-8 ATS in their last 9 non-conference games.

Cincinnati 31, Virginia Tech 13

That's it and that's all guys, HAPPY NEW YEARS TO EVERYONE OUT THERE, wish you and your families and the best and health and let's keep making money and posting on this great website. Peace.

Oh my god. Just when I thought it coudnt get any worse. Your posted plays go 0-5 yesterday, and all of a sudden they don’t count. Let me ask you, if they went 5 and 0 would you have counted them to your record like you counted the Wagerline guys wins to your record? You are the biggest embarrassment to this site hands down, and the worst handicapper too. You find a new system every day, and they all crash and burn. You then do your best to avoid it counting on your record, and off to a new system.
For anyone that cares, like faders of mista loser, his Bowl record is
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
7 -14 33%....and he won two of those games by a half point.:ohno:

Great to see you on Penn State. I have liked them ever since I saw the line come out a few weeks ago. I sure hope Penn State wins the game, and I think they can, but there is no way they will loss by more then a TD. Penn State is my biggest play yet for the bowl games, and probably will be my biggest. Good luck to you, and lets win some money!!!!

I posted the system plays yesterday and they went 0-5. If you look back the previous system play threads, I actually indicate when I bet on them and I post units. Give your head a shake son, I did not post units and did not play the games yesterday. I simply posted them here as part of the system thread. Peace.
