MistaFlava's 2008 CBB Record: 53-47-4 ATS (+3.50 Units)
I kept the money trailing rolling yesterday with a 2-0 ATS performance on Pittsburgh and Texas A&M. I am now 22-11 ATS in my last 33 wagers. I will don't have time for writeups right now so I will just keep posting my picks. Okay so my PS3 project is on hold right now, the results are not doing shit, it was worth a try and it was fun for now. I will bring it back when I have time to do simulations but right now my work is more important and I will revert back to my old style for some winners. Time go on a huge run and bring this record back to something good. I can really start being useful around here. I only care about the money I win and not the percentage of bets I win so taking home the cash is all that matters and proper Money Management is a must, although I have a feeling I will still drop bombs here and there. That's just the way I roll and if you don't like it I don't really give a shit. Gotta love college hoops a lot more than the NBA and believe me when I say that this is where the money is at despite some of these kids really sucking when the game is on the line. Only in this sport can you have miracle covers. Hope you enjoy my writeups.

The Houston Cougars are a high scoring team and anyone who has watched them knows that they can go on big time runs and put games out of hand in a hurry. What I have noticed about this team is that they have really taken advantage of weaker teams like Marshall and tonight should be no different as the Cougars are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games versus teams with a losing straight up record on the season. The Cougars have been pretty damn good as a favorite (when they are supposed to win games) as they have covered the spread in 8 of their last 11 games when favored in a game (with one push in the mix so the last 12 games). For such a high scoring to play against a much weaker team like Marshall is a gift. Some will argue that Marshall is very good as a home underdog covering 10 of their last 13 as a home underdog but most of those covers were from the last two seasons when this team was a bit better but this year they are just brutal. The Thundering Herd have covered the spread in only 5 of their last 20 games going 5-14-1 ATS in those games and this is definitely not a team you want to put your money on. They are only 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games versus Conference USA opponents and only 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 home games so this is a very bad spot for these guys. Believe me when I say Houston walks all over these guys and both Aubrey Coleman and Kelvin Lewis will probably score 25 each in this game.

I watched Illinois and bet on them in their win and cover on the weekend against Indiana and now that they finally got their first ATS cover on the road in 2009, this team should be beaming with confidence in their return to home court tonight. Penn State has actually been one of the best underdog bets in the Big Ten Conference this season and parts of last season but their run has to stop at some point and I just don't see this team continuing their success on the road. Not here, not now and certainly not in this building. Despite being a great underdog bet this season, Penn State is actually 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 games as a road underdog and they have not been a good bet in their last eight Wednesday night games. Illinois on the other hand is a very good home team, they seem to always show up for games here and this should be no different. For some reason this team loves midweek games as they are now 28-12-2 ATS in their last 42 games played on a Wednesday night and they are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games as a home favorite of 7 to 12.5 points. They are 13-5-1 ATS in their last 19 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600% on the season and the Illini should win this game big tonight with the home fans going nuts. Penn State has always played well against Illinois and the underdog has been the play for a while in this series but Illinois needs to continue winning and tonight they should really roll in this game.

I know some of you are thinking like me and you are just waiting for this team to finally turn things around and start winning games in this Conference. Well the Hoyas have fallen so far off the map that chances are unless they win the Big East Tournament or at least reach the finals, they are not going to make the NCAA Tournament. I know a lot of people are going to hesitate to bet on a Georgetown team that is 1-10-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall, that is 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games overall, that is 0-8 ATS in their last eight games that follow a straight up loss the game before and that is 0-5-1 ATS in their last six road games. Having said that, they have had success on Wednesday nights going 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games played on a Wednesday and this is the weakest opponents they have played against in quite some time. South Florida has some decent players but they can never get it together for a long enough period of time to win games and that was evident in their last game. Even though they covered the spread against West Virginia, the Bulls had them where they wanted but could not finish. I really don't like them that much as home underdogs where they are 1-8 ATS in their last nine games as a home underdog of 0.5 to 6.5 points and this is definitely a spot where I have faded them in the past and made some money. In general this is not a profitable team and seeing how badly Georgetown is in need of a win tonight, I am going to fade the Bulls to the bank and make it for a rather large amount. Well not yet but I will be backing these guys at some point this season and making big money. I AM MAKING THIS MY LARGEST PLAY OF THE WEEK and I love the Hoyas to really get back on track in this game tonight. BANK THIS BITCH!

It's not always easy going against the Volunteers in college basketball because they always have good teams and you can probably count of them competing night in and night out on a regular basis. Having said that, Tennessee has looked pretty damn good lately but if there was ever a time to fade them it would be now when they go on the road in hostile conference environment and I think they will struggle big time in this game tonight. Tennessee comes into this game with a bad rep as a favorite on the road and I do remember backing them a few times in this spot and getting totally screwed by what looks like an easy line. The Vols are 6-14-1 ATS in their last 21 games as a road favorite and like I just mentioned, you absolutely cannot trust them in a spot like this and I actually think they are going to lose the game straight up. This is the same team that is 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and that is not to mention the fact that the road team is 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these teams so believe me when I say Tennessee is in trouble here. Ole Miss is a very good coming off a loss as they are 6-0 ATS in their last six games that follow a straight up loss the game before and they are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games versus SEC Conference opponents. The Rebels are also one of the most trustworthy teams when it comes to playing against good teams as they are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games versus teams with a winning straight up record and that means the Rebels are going to be up for the challenge. I see a straight up win.
