2007 Memorial Cup Record: 0-0 (+0.00 Units)

Alright so I sat out the first two games of the Memorial Cup because I wanted to get a feel for all four teams and now I am ready to make some cash. The Memorial Cup always confuses oddsmakers because they don't know what to do when different leagues face each other. I have made tons of cash betting on the Memorial Cup in year's past and I fully expect to do the same this year. Feel free to chime in with opinions and picks and what not. For those who don't know what the Memorial Cup is, it's the champion of the OHL, QJMHL, WHL and the host (who are from the WHL this year). It's a battle for Canadian Junior Hockey Supremacy. Most of these players are future or current NHL Draft Picks. Let's do this. Each play is for 1 unit.

Game #3 - Sunday, May 20

VANCOUVER GIANTS ML +130

Well I guess we have our first bad line of the tournament and I say this because it seems like the oddsmakers are using stats sheets only to determine how things are going to be lined in this tournament. I don't know if they are aware of this or not but the Lewiston MAINEiacs are going to be without their star captain Marc-Andre Cliche who was injured in the win yesterday afternoon against Medicine Hat. The oddsmakers have also failed to acknowledge that the Vancouver Giants are not only the home team with all the home fans but they were WHL finalists against Medicine Hat and lost in 7 games which means that they are pretty much one of the best teams in the Country anyways but on top of that they have the home town support. I was actually quite impressed with Vancouver in their opener two days ago as they beat the OHL champion Plymouth Whalers in overtime and kicked off their tournament with a bang. Lewiston is being called the best team in this tournament because they have won 27 of their last 28 games overall now after beating Medicine Hat 3-1 in the opener yesterday. However, they don't get much time to rest, only about 24 hours and now they have to play against the host team who have been resting and who are, once again, one of the best teams in all of Canada. How the odds are like this I have no idea but I do know that missing out on them would be a big mistake. The Vancouver Giants have a goal differential of +39 in this tournament and I fully expect to see them in the finals of the tournament against either Plymouth or this same Lewiston team. Well the odds have to be like this because Lewiston has not lost a single game in their league playoff run nor have they lost a single game since February. I have full faith that the Giants can win this game in front of the home crowd and end the run for the MAINEiacs. This is the second year in a row in the Memorial Cup for the Giants which is why I think they are the most experienced team here and they are the guys who are most battle ready for big games like this one. They have 16 returning players from last years team. I already told you guys quite a few times now, this is probably the best team in this tournament, the future champions. Lewiston is damn good but they aren't this good to win without their injured captain regardless of their unbeaten streak. This tournament is all about finding bad lines, knowing the better teams and the better and recognizing that a team from Quebec (well not technically but player wise) is not about to beat the toughest team in this tournament on a physical stand point. So my call is for the Giants to move to 2-0 coming within reach of being sent through to the finals without having to win another game. Don Hay has won two Memorial Cups as a coach and he knows how to get his guys going. I am pretty damn hungry for some money guys and its up to the Giants to hook me up with some CASH FUCKIN MONEY BABY!

I can't believe this garbage, Pinnacle just sent me an email saying since there is a lack of interest in these lines, they would no longer offer them.

WTF??????

Well I guess my tournament is over....really disappointed. If anyone was betting them with me, please send them an email or something.

I was just about to sign up with Pinnacle because I heard they offered Memorial Cup lines. That kinda sucks.

It just doesn't make sense...I know I kicked their asses yesterday and pounded away on the ML +130 but is that really reason to get rid of the lines???

Anyways, if any other books offer it, Plymouth is going to win tonight.

LOL, you might be single-handedly responsible for having them taken away and then brought back.

I think so because when I bet on the Vancouver Giants at +130, the line went down with each maximum wager of $54 and I placed about 6-7 of them which brought the line down to even money. :missingte

Lets see if that happens again tonight.

2007 Memorial Cup Record: 1-0 (+1.30 Units)

I won huge on my first bet with Vancouver ML +130 and now im ready for more. The Memorial Cup always confuses oddsmakers because they don't know what to do when different leagues face each other. *The lines move as soon as I bet since the limit is so low

Game #5 - Tuesday, May 22

LEWISTON MAINEIACS ML +103

Alright so we are back after a short debacle with Pinnacle about posting odds and what not. So after winning my first wager of the tournament and moving the line by about 20 points, I am ready to rock and roll once again tonight. I don't know if you guys have noticed or have been following the Cup so far but Plymouth (the Ontario Hockey League representative) has lost both of their games and it's do or die for them tonight. If they lose they are obviously out of the tournament and if they win, they have small chance of forcing a tiebreak game on Friday. Either way, they have their backs against the wall like they have had so many times in the playoffs but this time I think the mistake is fatal. Now for those who don't know much about Lewiston, they were a -120 favorite against Vancouver when I faded them the other day and now the oddsmakers have abandoned them for the loss and made them underdogs. Hahaha...too funny. Well Lewiston was 16-1 in the playoffs coming into this tournament and after losing a game where they held the lead for 90% of the game, they are now underdogs and I am smiling to the bank. Lewiston knows that with a win they can still get a bye into the finals of this tournament depending on the outcome of the other game tomorrow. This is probably the best goaltending matchup we have seen in this tournament so far but Lewiston's Jonathan Bernier is by far the best goalie in this tournament, he just had no help from his teammates last game. The issue I have with ever placing money on the Plymouth Whalers is that they have virtually no discipline at all no matter how talented they are. In 22 playoff games this post-season they have 546 penalty minutes and they are coming off a game where they had 59 penalty minutes against Medicine Hat in that loss last night. So no matter how much these guys claim they are ready to win a game in this tournament, the referees now know to keep a very close eye on these guys and the team comes into this game with a very hot head. Not good at all when you're trying to win games. As for Lewiston, they are a very speedy team with good discipline and will most likely be without their star captain Marc-Andre Cliche again tonight. However, having won 16 of their 17 playoff games coming into this tournament, I fully expect them to recover from only their second loss this post-season (and it was a close one) and I think they can really turn up the heat and win this game. A lot of people compare Lewiston to a team from the WHL and look at what both WHL teams did to the Whalers. The tournament is over for this team from Plymouth, they lost all control last night and now it's time for the much better team to send them packing. The only way to beat Lewiston is to get really physical with them but the Whalers are not a physical or big team, they are just a team that loses their heads and takes dumb penalties. Alright well as you know the limits are low at Pinnacle so when I bet this game a few times, the line is going to move quite significantly in the direction of Lewiston. LETS DO THIS MAINEiacs.

lol...-140 now....no thanks

It actually opened at +115 this morning I think but every wager of $54 moves the line another 4-5 points. Obviously now its no longer bettable. Can't wait to pound away on tomorrow's line...should be a great game.

GAME SUMMARY

a) Lewiston is the better team all night

b) Lewiston makes it 1-0 with 14:00 left in the game but the goal is disallowed, huge mistake by the goal judge.

c) With 5:00 left in the game, Lewiston takes the 1-0 lead

d) With :40 left and Lewiston on the powerplay, Plymouth ties the game up short handed.

e) Plymouth wins in overtime.

WAGER IS VOIDED BECAUSE OF 60 MINUTE BETTING RULE ON PINNACLE

All in all I had the right team but they blew it...was pissed that wagering is for REGULATION TIME ONLY as I was sure Lewiston would win in OT but im glad now its not.

See you all tomorrow...cant wait
