Bears - Bears To Start Grossman At QB

David Haugh, Chicago Tribune

The Bears' quarterback of the future will become their quarterback of the present when practice resumes Wednesday, team and league sources confirmed. Rex Grossman will start Sunday at Soldier Field against the Vikings to give the Bears three games to evaluate their first-round draft pick with the idea of preparing him to be the No. 1 quarterback for the 2004 season.

I dont know, at first glance...vikings look easy which means you better think twice. That time of year where the vikes cough it up like they usually do. Despite the directions these two teams have gone the past year, they still play each other tough. Vikes had to score late to get that cover in the first meeting several weeks back. I think it is very possible that there are more games decided by a field goal between these two teams the last 10 years than most teams in the nfl..but I could be wrong. New QB makes it tough to take the bears tho.

Okay going to be a total homer here....My vikings will kick bear a$$ this weekend....
When these teams get together there are usually big scores but with rookie Qb playing it maybe one sided.... sounds to me the bears dont want to win looking to get a high draft pick....

Minnesota flat out sucks! Especially on the road. They have lost their last 3 on the road by an average of 18 points. Including losses to San Diego, and Oakland!!!!

Even if Grossman is playing they are going to run Anthony Thomas right down the Viking's throats! Minnesota is giving up 5 YPC on defense!!! Outside in the cold won't help the Viking offense either.

Do you honestly think Randy Moss is going to want to play in the cold????? Hell, he doesn't even try half of the plays in the dome at home!

Minnesota may win and cover but this is not even close to a good game to play IMO.

The Bears almost beat the Rams at home a couple weeks ago and the Rams are 10 times better than the Vikings. We saw that a couple of weeks agao win STL beat the Vikes by 30!

If minnesota can win Sunday, it
will be a giant step in locking up
their division.A win would give them
at least a 1 gm lead over green bay
plus the tie breaker (div record) with
2 games left (kc and ariz).A loss this
week and a very probable loss next week
vs the chiefs, and the Vikings could
very well find themselves out of the
playoffs. This probably will be the
game that defines the Viking's season,
so we'll see how well Tice can coach in a
big game.

Vikings win this one fairly easily. Turnovers and special teams is only thing that stops them in this one. Grossman should throw a couple of picks to secondary with most int's in football.

If I'm Jauron, and the offenseive coordinator, I don't have Grossman throw one ball the whole game. Minnesota gives up 5.0 YPC on defense. As long as they take care of the ball I think Chicago stays in this one. I don't think Moss will even show up, it'll be to cold for him.

Unbelievable.........the squares are all PILING onto the Norseman.

What's amazing is that the same squares are betting against the Chargers and Raiders this week. Two bad teams that both recently clobberred the horrible Vikings, and by double digits.

The "right" analysis on this game is (since 11/1) a 4-3 Bear team hosts a 2-5 Viking team.

The line is 3? Uh-oh. That's a lot to lay on the Bears........WHAT ....the Bears are GETTING the points?????

.........picture of happy guy driving the car and shifting........

BACK UP THE TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!

fezz - heard ya on the show friday.

100% disagree with ya here. not wild about the ikes - but i am on them - 100% because of rex grossman. i have made a MINT betting against rookie qbs in their 1st nfl start - and don't intend to give back any $$$ here. grossman will be like every other rookie qb in this spot - and fail miserably!

vikes won't win this game - rather the bears (and grossman) will lose it. but ANYONE else at qb for da bears and i am on them - but i can't help but take the easy pickings here betting against a rookie!

Bears are likely to start two replacements on the O line for the game. Gandy and Villy both will likely sit. Rookie qb with patched line is never a good thing.
