Minn. has no chance to win anothe series, if yo shut down Cassel they have noi where else to go, yeahb you give Garnett his points but they do not have the firepower. Do not see anyone beating the Pacers they are to deep and to young. Walsh is a genius they have one player left from the 2000 team that got hosed by the refs in the finals, they may have a litle dynasty brewing even if they do not win this year they will just get better. The Clippers have the number one pick about every year but can not win, Walsh has rebuilt a team in 2 years.

I think youre right about MN, they dont have the firepower to match up with Sac. With a healthy Wally on his game maybe, but I am all over Sac to win the series.

But then what you said about the Pacers shows that you seriously dont have a clue. They might win the East but there are probably 6 teams in the west that are better than them.

Name the 6 and if you pick Dallas you do not follow the NBA nor have even seen the Pacers play, if you can name me 6 coaches who do not think the Pacers have the best team i will eat my hat, The west had their run, wel actually they did not, LA is the leagues team and SA built their team like a eastern team since the east has dominated the playoffs with boston detroit and the bulls winning every year that the leagues team has not, but i forgot Sac, has been winning every year, when Dallas has not and Minn, wait they just won their first playoff series, so you must be talking about, Golden State or Denver , who doesent have a clue? Give me the young pacers with Oneil who should have been MVP, Artest who won some award this year, Harrington who finished second in some award, I wil agree with all the anouncers, those who have played the game, and did i mention how young they are with cap room, of course LA is young and Dallas will keep their team that is not in the playoffs togetrer for another wek, and SAC is a very young team i think they have a player under 30. OF course the pacers only won more games then any one and went 4and 4 against the big 4 in the east, and the other 2 you say are better i think they did ok against them, unless you are talking about the clippers. Watch the pacers against the Pisztons inthe finals and take a look, who ever wins will give SA a good series and if the Pacers lose they will be back fror the next 5 years because of Walsh and Bird you know anything about them.

Yes Dallas would beat Indiana in a series. Am I positive of it? No, but I would bet on it. The Spurs, Sac, LA, MN, and Dallas would all beat Indiana. Memphis might even have a shot. The Pacers are solid but you talk about fire power and they just dont have it. They play very good defense but when going up against a good NBA team you also need a good offense.
And I know what youre thinking when I said Memphis, that theyre way too soft to beat Indiana. But they have a more balanced scoring attack than Indiana and it would be an interesting series.

But bottom line, the Pacers DO NOT HAVE A CHANCE to win the NBA title. They will probably be playing the Spurs or the Kings and will not have a prayer against either.

Austin Croshere? I bet those West coaches hope the Pacers lose so they don't have to lose sleep figuring out how to stop him.

tomone,
I totally agree with you. I think that Indiana has a great team and a great chance to win the NBA title this year. I have thought that they had the best team in the East(before Rasheed Wallace trade) for a long time and placed a 13-1 future wager on them to win the championship sometime around the all-star break. If they can get by Detroit, they will give the West all they can handle in the Finals. As for 6 teams from the West being able to beat them, that is a joke. San Antonio and Indiana are built a lot alike. Two MVP caliber, dominant post presences(Duncan, O'Neal), the two best perimeter defenders in the league(Artest, Bowen) and the fact that both teams play great defense. It should make for a great NBA Final, if that is indeed the matchup.

I'll tell ya what, if Indiana makes it to the finals you got them and I've got the team that comes out of the west. I'll give you +120 on the Pacers and I'm -100 on the west team. We'll send the money to the moderators ahead of time. Any amount you want to do up to 10 grand.

Take my money.

Indy would smoke Dallas' paper mache Defense to the tune of a 4-1 or 4-0 sweep..they're better than Sacto & we know what the Kings did to Dallas without a Defense of their own.

I'm amazed that you managed to squeeze all of this into four sentences.

Anyway, as for a Dallas/Indy series...Indy beat Dallas in late March...without Jermaine O'Neal!!!!!!!

Top to bottom, the Western Conference is FAR superior to the Eastern. You could argue it is the greatest conference disparity over the last 20 years in the four major sports.

However, I think people are over-estimating some of the top teams from the West (Lakers, Kings) and under-estimating the Pistons and Pacers. Right now, the Pistons/Pacers can go 6-7 games with any Western team.

Pistons will beat the Pacers. Sorry Pacer fans...

Wait another year!

I do however think that the Pacers would win a 7 game series over Dallas. This simply because Dallas is a joke!
