Until recently, my impression of the average card room was reminiscent of a scene straight out of Goodfellas. It had dim lighting, smoke hovering slightly overhead and the smell of stale brandy hanging in the air. I pictured the tables filled with brash, fat men with enough gold on their fingers to save the Federal Reserve.

She forgot to add if your name is Spider and you are serving drinks DEFINITELY watch your mouth.

Seriously nice article that reminded me of the first pot I ever won at a Vegas card room years ago. I started to rake the pot and was severly repriminded by the dealer who said never ever touch HER pot. Seems I had to wait for confirmation I had won and for her to push the chips my way. Live and learn.

Sorry guys, but calling that a grerat article is a SERIOUS overstatement!

It really has no new information for 90% of the poker players here and is just her own personal experience. There is nothing wrong with answering your sell phone during play. Just dont stay on it longer than 15 seconds or so and no dealer will mind

I would hope that her other articles will have much more substance than this one in the future. For that matter, here first article wasnt anything to write home about, but I refrained from saying anything about a first article from anyone

players,

While I appreciate your feedback, it looks like you are in the minority. Unless of course, posters are afraid to say how they really feel, which normally is not the case in our forums. That is is one reason I respect what our regular posters have to say...

Since she is on the payroll, what would you like to see differently that might make it worth your while regarding this writer?

I know more "REAL INFO" is one of them...

But please keep in mind that we have all levels of gamblers here and one complaint I often hear is they are sometimes intimidated by how advanced the threads are. Then, they get afraid to post...

Thanks,

THE SHRINK

GREAT READ XPANDA!! I enjoyed that very much....

I know one thing the poker rooms that are underground are very different then the pokerrooms in vegas or elsewhere ..no special way you need to behave..but I would not go to one if it was to crazy..

Also when playing poker, ease up on the SLOW ROLLING, it only shows up other players, and forces players and dealers to read multiple unneccessary hands. According to POKER PLAYER magazine it is poor etiquette.
