Problem is Houston Nutt has had just as long, and he's also an excellent coach and probably has better talent on that Ole Miss team.

As much as I'd like to have action on the game I can't talk myself into taking either side. Maybe something will present itself at the half.

All I have to say is look at the Ole Miss defensive line vs. TT offensive line. Harrell will have all day to throw the ball.

:think2:

That Ole Miss D-Line is better than even the Oklahoma front four. Harrell won't have all day but that Miss secondary does worry me a bit.

Edge goes to Ole Miss there, wixx. You may have paid too much attention to handicapping Texas Tech and not enough to capping Ole Miss. Their defensive line is very good.

Edge goes to both lines for Ole Miss. They are a very good run blocking team too. They'll open up some holes for their RB's against Tech's porous run defense.

They've ate up terrible Big 12 defenses. This is an SEC front with lots of speed and athleticism.

Stats are only as good as their context. Tech played two DI-AA opponents this year, controlling the line there means very little. As does winning the line battle against weak sisters like SMU, Baylor and Texas A&M. Against ranked teams with a winning record Tech is 26th at allowing sacks. Against ranked teams thy're 56th, right in the middle of the pack.

We could disect the Ole Miss stats all day too. Make sure and get in your Ole Miss bet All American. Being from Austin, you probable took UT against Tech too.

OU's defensive line was all over Harrell all night. The only thing i don't know in this case is how well the Ole Miss D-Line stacks up against OU's. This could be the key to the game, because the Rebs pass defense isn't very good. And neither is Tech's run defense. This has all of the makings of a high scroing game. But so far the overs haven't been very good to us bettors this bowl season.

I've got no bet on this game, it's too uncertain. But this thread has show you to be very good at superficial handicapping and making assumptions.

You started the thread looking to crow about your Texas Tech bet, but you've helped make a very good case for betting the Rebels. Maybe it'll help some other bettors out.

I agree that Tech's run defense is not very good and neither is the pass defense. Ole Miss will score and this game will be a high scoring game which I think favors Tech. Good luck.
