Not a fan at all of the Big Ten (ugly style play overall and dull) however Michigan State is a very, very easy team to like and root for.
Coach is a class act also.

Good luck Spartan fans, as long as you aren't playing the Huskies, I'm rooting for you.

I agree once again. My favorite team in the big 10. I'm not sure about what to think about the team...whats going to happen when MSU faces a memphis type team or pac 10 where all they do is run run run?

I don't mind them, they actually have some real athletes on their team unlike most of the big 10.

MSU unlike most big ten teams can run with the best of them and i think will actually play better against a team that likes to score

If MSU can limit the turnovers (shouldnt be a problem early on) and be consistent in the paint, they are shaping up for a great run. Can't wait until the big dance and would love see my team in the Final Four in D-Town!

i think state will hit a wall in the
32 or 16 round. if they make it past
that, i think they lose by dbl digits
vs a quality foe. should be interesting.
just feel, after watching them here in
michigan, game after game, that they
will get clobbered at some point. the
big ten isn't a good conf...just my
opinion.

Right now I could easily see them making the Elite Eight, but they are going to run into a very hot team at that point, and this is where MSU will not be able to match baskets. I hope I am wrong though! I will wait until I see the Final Bracket to pass judgement.

I used to miss class to watch Shawn Respert. Have followed the Big 10 religiously for the past 15 years. I want to see MSU do well, but man I just don't get the lover affair with this team.

Raymar Morgan has regressed in his 3 years. I like Roe and Lucas. Roe still has a ways to got. Walton is not a threat to shoot, this Izzo's worst FT shooting team in a while. I would love see them go to DET, but I don't think they are even close to Ville, Pitt, UNC, Memphis and Uconn.

Agree on Raymar, at least if he didnt regress he didnt ever put together a great year, and was M.I.A. come B10 conference play. But Lucas is a baller and the floor leader. Walton is a great defender. Suton has been consistant and continues to be a top rebounder. There are no superstars, but there are a lot of role players that do their job very well. They have more depth this year, with Summers, Roe, Lucious, etc. They just need to be more consistant in the paint, and limit those early turnovers, like I sadi before.
As far as the teams you mentioned above, the only 2 that really scare me are Pitt and UNC. In my opinion, MSU can hang with the other 3. Dont matter though, cause right now I think UNC or Pitt wins it all, unless I see some favorable brackets for the others.

Yeah, the FT shooting for MSU has been surprisingly low, a shade under 70%, which is very unusual for an Izzo team. But the rebounding is way up this year, close to the championship teams level. They are 2nd in the nation in rebounding margin, only slightly below Pitt.

This team is going to be sick nasty next year when they lose all of their big men (Suton, Gray, Ibok) and start to run even more.

You're looking at a 7 man rotation of the following players...

G: Kalin Lucas
G: Chris Allen
G/F: Durrell Summers
F: Raymar Morgan
F: Delvon Roe

Bench: Draymond Green, Korie Lucious
