Michigan -3 for Tuesday afternoon

Gonna back the Wolverines in their conference opener against Illinois. This presents UM with a fresh start in conference play. We have seen them lose to the likes of EMU and NJIT. However this is still a pretty decent UM team even after losing some key players to the NBA last year. They have played a tough schedule while I have not been impressed with the Illini's schedule so far. UM has had a much tougher sked and is more battled tested. Also, UM has a big edge inside with their big bodies. If UM had taken care of business against EMU, NJIT and SMU at home this line would have been around -6.5 or -7.5. We get a short chalk from a team the public sees as regressing from last year. This is still a pretty good team with a strong home court and I'm willing to lay the 3 points in a conference game against a team who's played a soft schedule IMO.

I'm not arguing with your play, can't decide this one although being an engineer and as a consequence, numbers man, numbers point to the Wolverines. But your claim about SOS simply isn't true. Illini have played Baylor, Nova, Oregon, Miami, and a not bad Mizzou team....much more murderer's row than what Michigan faced. My problem with Michigan is how much confidence can you have after losing four straight to: NJIT, EMU, Trounced by Zona, and beat handily by SMU??? Wish ya the best with this one, gonna watch from the sidelines. GL

I watched the Miz/IL game the other day and Illinois struggled badly at home against a terrible Mizzou team. I'd take the home team here also.
