I think he is taking being signed by a *Lower than NFL* type of triple-A team to eat at him slowly, and he just feels he is such a much better player then those he will have to take the field with. That he deserves to be in the NFL and in the back of his mind he is still having the thought process its because he is gay.

there's so much more to life than athletic accomplishments

and if he has talent, then he's wasting it, and he's the one that appears to be making his dreams harder to achieve

He'll find his way in life. He's still young and maybe a bit overwhelmed by circumstances. Plenty of straight athletes have washed out of the NFL as well. He might sell cars one day, write a book, help other gay athletes years down the road in avoiding these pitfalls. Don't be surprised if years down the road people pay to hear him give a speech. When I was 22 I thought I knew everything. Turned out I didn't know much. Life has a way of waking you up.

Canadian Football is a stepping stone for many NFL players. Guy has worked hard for 20 years to make it to the NFL.
