He enters this matchup after two consecutive stellar performances in which he allowed only two runs on 10 hits over 17 innings in 3-1 and 4-1 victories over the Nationals.
The Brewers will counter with one of their staff leaders, Corbin Burnes (11-8, 3.11 ERA, 1.00 WHIP), who was last seen pitching two-run, four-hit ball over 6.1 innings in a 10-2 win over the Reds on Saturday. Burnes last faced the Marlins back in May in which he allowed one run on five hits over seven full innings.
Alcantara is a killer when he’s in a groove and was superb when he faced the Brewers last season in holding Milwaukee to one run on five hits over seven full in a 2-1 loss. The price we are getting on the Marlins with Alcantara in the box is too generous to refuse.
