lets talk some football men... we have to powerhouses meeting up for the third time in less then 14months this friday... I would love to hear everyones thoughts on the game.. Key match-ups / pay-back / homefield adv. / QB play / returning starters, this is a key folks

Not at all, i saw him vs Miami twice last year look completly befuddled, the guy is just not that good. Obviosuly a head case, otherwise he wouldn't have been getting embarrased by Miami in the bowl game or getting suspended for his team's Sugar bowl game a few years back...

good points, he was made to look very bad last year vs. Miami...... How much did Mimai lose from that defense? does that even matter when talking about Miami however? Meaning there is so much talent every year there.

what makes anyone think this game will be any different than the last "X" games played between these 2 - where FSU shoulda won the game - but didn't.

i am waiting for someone to post something about FSU coming out fired up playing for bowdens grandkid and playing them because of it.

miami has OWNED this series and until/unless i am shown a reason to play FSU i will be on Miami here.

Forget about Rix being terrible, have you guys seen the same Brock Berlin I have? Talk about a clueless piece of garbage. He epitomized the deer in the headlight look vs. V Tech last year. I would think FSU's DL and pass rush is at least as good as, if not better than the Hokies.

I remember watching the game last year, i had miami, and thinking to myself, boy i sure am glad it is pouring down rain and a sloppy field, because florida st. would of kicked their ass on a dry track.

miami off. is just terriable, and it is time for rix for a breakout year.


fsu has to much talent this year, and miami just keeps losing to many good players to the nfl.

Rix has had a lot of things go against him, and it is his time this year.

Last Year he imporved a lot from the first Miami game last year to the last one. I think he played in the bowl? FSU had 96 yards passing, in the Bowl, if that is improvement? they better find another QB.

FSU has almost their entire offense back this year. Miami is only returning 10 starters and unfortunately (for Miami) one of them is Brock Berlin.
Miami is also a deplorable 6-12 ATS @ home under Coker.
This is FSU's year. They will finally shake that monkey off their back.

What improvement is he talking about? The guy was just plain horrible, Berlin wasn't all that much better, but Miami has better RB's

Rix will be a heisman candidate by the end of the year.

All other things aside, these teams usually play each other to the wire in this HUGE rivalry. Game is usually decided by a field goal (or missed field goal...can you say "Wide Right"?). Regardless of where the game is played, injuries, QB play, etc., take the dog and watch it come down to a field goal as time expires. Just my opinion.

I love FSU in this game! I can't see Miami just coming into the ACC right off the bat and being favorites over the team who's been the class of the ACC for years. I think Bowden will have a type of gameplan to take pressure off of Rix, so he doesn't think he has to make every big play. That should cut down on the mistakes. I also think that will carry over into the season and Rix WILL have a breakout year as will Florida State. Too much on the line I feel for FSU to lose as far as respect in the ACC and having a QB who really hasn't played up to his potential which I think he will. Other factors will win the game for FSU, but Rix will play a big part. Bowden and co. don't lose this game!!
