If there ever was a series that had SWEEP painted all over it it's this one.
Miami smokes Jersey by the 20's in the 1st two games and all of a sudden they're only favored by 3.5 on the road??? They aren't better because they played at home. THEY'RE JUST FUQING BETTER PERIOD!

This will truly reveal whether or not Vegas controls NBA games.:finger:
Watch the Nets mysteriously cover.

Yes, Miami is the dominant team in this series...however, I have too many reasons to know that there will not be a sweep here. I may sound like a tout at times, and I haven't proven myself yet to be much of a capper but the home dog is too good a play to pass up. From the beginning of this series I've felt that NJ will get one at home (whether it be SU or ATS). I'll be riding the Nets game 3 here. After that, though, it's all Miami.

I'm basically a real simple guy.....and I look at things in a real simple way.....and my simple way of looking at the NBA is this: The better teams usually beat the lesser teams.

Miami is "simply" a better team than New Jersey.

It doesn't hold up 100% of the time. Nothing does. But I daresay it is true MOST of the time that the better team wins.

Homecourt edge.....sure..........and maybe New Jersey WILL squeak one out......but I wouldn't put my money on it.

Good thread in any case.....

There is a real bias against sweeps by the NBA. It shows in how the game is refereed. Too many people make a lot more money if it goes an extra game or two. Sweeps happen but they are tough to pull off even when one team is clearly superior to the other.
Still, I wouldn't take the Nets against Heat short of getting at least 8 points.
Good spot to look elsewhere IMHO!

Don't know what the excitement is. Let me guess Phoenix -2 is a steal also. I think not. All these lines are very tight and slight value only lies with the home underdogs usually.

Home court is worth 3 or so points so do the math. Miami 8 point fav at home turns into a 2-3 point fav away. Same goes for all the lines. Not that complicated.

Personally only road fav I would consider is Detriot. Philly is poorly coached and seems to have no answers. Detriot is so fundamentally sound and plays great D. I think this is the only series that could be a sweep this round.

HPark well said. I agree totally that Philly can get swept. I actually took the prop at the start of the playoffs. Miami also has the potential to sweep the series but I don't think it will be as easy.
