I think that even though Pedro might have lost a couple of MPH of his fastball last year, I'd still put him in the top 10 of MLB pitchers. Leiter's lucky to be in the top 50. I'm a diehard Mets fan, and watching any of Al's starts last year were just brutal. 5 IP, 120 pitches, 4BB, 4K, was about the norm.wilheim said:Headline should read Mets pick up right handed Al Leiter only more expensive.

they can have wright all day long.......sportsmonitor said:As a Red Sox fan I hate to see Pedro go but at least Red Sox nation has something to remember him by. I wish him well in New York and glad he will be playing for the Mets and not the Yankmees. Too bad Boston couldn't get Pavano then I wouldn't have felt so bad about losing Pedro. Pavano and Wright to the Yankmees is depressing.
i'm not yet convinced wells will contribute much (though i do trust theo) but wells at his conract vs wright at his? i'll take wells all day all day! this is the same jaret wright from the indians a couple of years back, no? cmon! look back to when the braves let a pitcher go...they usually know what they're doing.....look for Wright to be a DISASTER in NY!sportsmonitor said:I would rather have Wright then a washed up Boomer.
Pretty strong words to live by, but hope your right. Anythings possible right now and way to early to speculate. We'll see what happens. Would have love to have obtained Pavano though.sherman said:i'm not yet convinced wells will contribute much (though i do trust theo) but wells at his conract vs wright at his? i'll take wells all day all day! this is the same jaret wright from the indians a couple of years back, no? cmon! look back to when the braves let a pitcher go...they usually know what they're doing.....look for Wright to be a DISASTER in NY!
