Guys please take a moment today to remember those who made the supreme sacrifice so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we have. I am a Vietnam Vet and lost friends in that conflict, and will remember them today. Please join me.

Amen.......Acknowledging the fact that so many made the supreme sacrifice is an obligation we must all under-take.

Again, thank you for your service to our Country . I remember that ugly Vietnam war well. Lost so many good men there.

I know it's already been said, but another thank you to all who have served or are serving. And I would like to thank my dad. He died 30 years ago this month. He was a sergeant in World War 2 and served in Italy.

Same here GS. My dad has been dead 19 years now and I always think of him on this day. A Jap snapper shot him three times but he survived. He stayed in the hospital for 10 months before he was released to go home. He shot a 30 caliber machine gun and growing up I can only remember him shooting a gun once. Getting him to talk about the war was almost impossible...it bothered him, so he wouldn't discuss it. He never complained even though his war wounds caused him a lot of pain later in his life. Toughest guy I ever known...I miss him.

My dad has been dead 15 years , he was a Lt tank commander during Korea. He was stationed over-seas a couple of times but fortunately was never in direct combat.

Glad to hear all the stories. I'm a military brat as well. My dad is retired Navy....22 years. He died when I was 11 years old (33 years ago). He served during Korea and Vietnam.

This is my 20th year in the service (I enlisted in the Navy in 1989 and transferred to the Coast Guard in 2001). I will make O4 (Lieutenant Commander) on July 1st...so I'll likely stick around a few more years! I'm back in Reserve status now, but hoping to get another active duty contract. It's getting tiresome going to Reserve duty every month, but it'll be well worth it when I start collecting the pension!

Our armed forces continue- year in, year out to be honored with the service of incredible men and women.

Thank you to all those who have served and to their families. The sacrifices are huge.
