Donald Trump very publicly showed his support for Newt Gingrich in the wake of his Tuesday night attack on Megyn Kelly, applauding his efforts while speaking at the opening of his newest hotel in Washington DC.
The Republican hopeful was detailing his strong work ethic and how he would put that to use should he be elected president, when he said: 'By the way, congratulations Newt on last night. That was amazing.'
He then added: 'We don't play games Newt, right? We don't play games.'
Gingrich, who was also in DC for the hotel opening and sitting in the audience, was asked by reporters if he had any comment about the video earlier in the day, to which he said: 'Just watch it.'
Around that same time he also wrote on Twitter: 'For the record, @MegynKelly was wrong, i don't have anger management issues. I do have media bias issues!'
Kelly has been attacked multiple times in the past by the Trump campaign, most notably after the first presidential debate when she asked a question about the billionaire businessman's treatment of women.

Kelly is also being attacked by two of the women who have accused Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct in the wake of her on-air showdown with Newt Gingrich on Tuesday night.
Paula Jones and Juanita Broaddrick both posted comments questioning Kelly's journalistic integrity and mocking her physical appearance on their Twitter accounts after the Fox News host's interview with Gingrich.
'Beauty is only skin deep. Megyn Kelly is ugly as hell on the inside,' wrote Broaddrick in one tweet.
Broaddrick then retweeted a comment on Wednesday morning that read: Appears @megynkelly is putting ego before a career & country. Megyn Kelly is a journalist like Charlie Manson is a humanitarian. #Newt.'
The tweet also featured a photoshopped image on Kelly in black lingerie.
Jones meanwhile posted a link to a video of the interview on her Twitter account, writing: 'Woohoo, he slammed this nasty heifer!'
She later deleted that tweet

Not happy: Juanita Broaddrick (above on October 9 at the second presidential debate) and Paula Jones attacked Megyn Kelly on Twitter after the Fox News host's bizarre interview with Newt Gingrich

Big money: Jones settled a sexual harassment lawsuit against Bill Clinton in 1998 for $850,000

39BC4EF300000578-3874720-image-a-7_1477493029261.jpg

Mad: Jones meanwhile posted a link to a video of the interview on her Twitter account, writing: 'Woohoo, he slammed this nasty heifer!' She later deleted that tweet

Jones also took some time to engage with people on Twitter after the interview.
One woman responded to Jones 'heifer' tweet by writing: 'U undermine your credibility when u call @MegynKelly names & cheer on someone who attacks her for believing assault victims.'
Jones replied to the woman by writing: 'wrong....she only believes the so called trump victims....hypocrite!'
Another individual said to Jones: 'If Paula's feelings are hurt from being called a "Bimbo" why is she calling another woman "heifer"?'
She responded to that tweet by writing: 'oh so it's bad now that I've called someone name...hypocrite.'

Jones then posted a tweet that read: 'Lets get this straight...Megyn Kelly isn't for all women...she hates Trump, so she's only for those so called victims! NEVER for me!'
She followed that up with a link to the interview, retweeting the Twitter account MAGS for MAGA, who wrote: 'KELLY DESTROYED @MegynKelly gets smashed on the #kellyfile by @NewtGingrich.'
[h=3]GINGRICH ON KELLY FILE[/h]Megyn Kelly: If Trump is a sexual predator --
Newt Gingrich: He's not a sexual predator.
MK: Okay. That is your opinion.
NG: You could not defend that statement. I'm sick and tired of people like you using language that's inflammatory, that's not true.
MK: Excuse me, Mr. Speaker, you have no idea whether it's true or not.
NG: Neither do you.
MK: That is right. And I'm not taking a position on it unlike you.
NG: When you used the word you took a position and I think it's very unfair of you to do that, Megyn. I think that is exactly the bias people are upset by.
MK: I think that your defensiveness on this may speak volumes sir.
NG: No. Let me just suggest to you --
MK: No, no, no, let me make my point and now I'll give you the floor. What I said is if Trump is a sexual predator, then it's a big story. And what we saw on that tape was Trump himself saying that he likes to grab women by the genitals and kiss them against their will. That is what we saw. And then we saw ten women come forward after he denied actually doing it at a debate to say that was untrue, he did it to me, he did it to me, we saw reporters, we saw people who worked with him. People from Apprentice and so on and so forth. He denies it all. Which is his right. We don't know what the truth is. My point to you is as a media story, we don't get to say the ten women are lying. We have to cover that story, sir.
NG: Sure. Okay. So it's worth 23 minutes of the three networks to cover that story and Hillary Clinton had a secret speech in Brazil to a bank that paid her 225,000 saying her dream as an open border where 600million people could come to America, that is not worth covering.
MK: That is worth covering and we did.
NG: - the tapes of your show recently, you are fascinated with sex and you don't care about public policy.
MK: Me, really?
NG: That's what I get out of watching you tonight

Both Jones and Broaddrick have taken issue with Kelly in the past few weeks after comments she made about their allegations against Clinton.
Broaddrick claims that in 1978 she was raped by Clinton in an Arkansas hotel room when he was serving as Attorney General of the state.
She also claims that three weeks after the alleged rape Hillary Clinton thanked her at a campaign event and voiced her appreciation for everything she had done, which Broaddrick has stated she interpreted to be a warning to keep quiet.
The Clintons have never commented in these allegations, but Bill's lawyer did deny there was any truth to the Broaddrick's claims when she shared her story in a 1999 interview.
Broaddrick voiced her anger at Kelly earlier this month following a comment the Fox News host made while interviewing Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway after the second debate.
While speaking with Conway about the decision by the Trump campaign to bring Broaddrick to the debate, Kelly pointed out that Broaddrick signed an affidavit in January 1998 denying that she was ever raped by Bill.
Broaddrick interpreted this as Kelly calling her a liar, and posted a link to a story criticizing Kelly's comment.
Jones, a former Arkansas state worker who was the most well known of Bill's accusers prior to Monica Lewinsky, alleged that in 1991 Bill propositioned her and then exposed himself, becoming embarrassed and rushing out of the room when she rejected his alleged advances.
She filed a sexual harassment lawsuit that Bill's lawyers were unable to get dismissed, and in November 1998 he paid Jones $850,000 to settle the case.
Jones has been interviewed by Kelly in the past, appearing on America's Newsroom in 2008, but took issue with a comment she made on The Kelly File earlier this month about her settlement.
'The Paula Jones settlement to me sounds like a nuisance value settlement. He paid her $850,000 with the vast majority was legal fees. Only $200 went to her,' said Kelly during a segment where she spoke about some of Clinton's accusers.
In that same segment she also spoke about Broaddrick, making it clear she did not think the woman was a liar.
'Yeah, both Kathleen Willey and Juanita Broaddrick refused to come forward for some time publicly and then denied that he had done anything to them for some period of time,' said Kelly.
'That however doesn't account for the fact they may have been intimidated, he was a man of power, they may have been reluctant to do so.'

Not happy: Newt Gingrich (right) exploded at Megyn Kelly (left) and accused her of being 'fascinated with sex' in a stunning confrontation on the Kelly File Tuesday night

Too far?: Broaddrick also tweeted a comment comparing Kelly to Charles Manson which included a photoshopped picture of her in lingerie

Gingrich was appearing on The Kelly File to discuss the state of the race on Tuesday and became visibly annoyed early on in the segment when Kelly brought up the fact that Trump's numbers are so low that some polls are predicting that Republicans could lose their majority in the Senate.
The former Speaker of the House argued this was not the case, telling Kelly: 'Republicans are actually out-voting Democrats in Florida, and they’re out-voting Democrats in Pennsylvania.'
Trump is now leading Clinton by two points in Florida according to a new Bloombergpoll and Republicans are in fact out-voting Democrats in that state as of Tuesday morning according to Politico, but it is unclear where Gingrich is getting his information about Pennsylvania as the state does not have early voting.
Kelly responded to this by pointing out to Gingrich that most polls, including ones released by Fox News, show Trump trailing Clinton in several key battleground states.
'They’re not non-partisan outlets. Every outlet you described is part of the establishment,' replied Gingrich.
Kelly quickly shot back at Gingrich: 'Fox News? Really, are we? I don’t think so.'

Best buds: Gingrich accused Kelly and the rest of the media for being biased during the interview (Newt and Trump above in 2011)

Clapping back: Jones lashed out at the individual who took issue with her atatck

Pointing it out: One Twitter user asked Jones if it was necessary to call Kelly a 'heifer'

She then switched subjects and began to talk about the setbacks Trump's campaign has been dealing with over the past month, starting with his weak performance at the first debate and the damaging mention of former beauty queen Alicia Machado, who he insulted for gaining weight.
Kelly also spoke of the now infamous 2005 Access Hollywood hot mic audio that was released earlier this month in which Trump was caught bragging about sexually assaulting women and detailed his attempt to bed a married woman.
Gingrich responded to this by calling the media bias against Trump, implying that the coverage of these incidents was unfair and stating that outlets were ignoring Hillary Clinton's recent scandals.
Kelly then interjected: 'If Donald Trump is a sexual predator...'
That statement immediately sent Gingrich into a rage, and he screamed at Kelly: 'I'm sick and tired of people like you, using language that's inflammatory, that's not true.'
He then added: 'When you use the words, you took a position. And I think it’s very unfair of you to do that, Megyn! I think that is exactly the bias that people are upset by.'
Kelly then calmly said to Gingrich: '“Your defensiveness on this may speak volumes, sir.'
She went on to say: 'He denies it all, which is his right. We don't know what the truth is.
'My point to you is, as a media story, we don't get to say, 10 women are lying. We have to cover that story, sir.'
Kelly also repeated what she had said earlier to make it clear that the claims of these women were only allegations, telling Gingrich: 'What I said is if Trump is a sexual predator, then it's a big story.'

Favorite word alert: Jones also labeled another Twitter critic a hypocrite

Gingrich then suggested that the media was not paying enough attention to Clinton's paid speech about dreaming of a 'common market with open trade and open borders,' which was included in the hacked emails of campaign manager John Podesta and published on Wikileaks.
Kelly replied to that claim by saying: 'That is worth covering. And we did.'
Gingrich, who looked both angry and frustrated by this point, then shouted at Kelly: 'I mean, you want to go back through the tapes of your show recently, you are fascinated with sex, and you don’t care about public policy.'
The Fox News anchor responded by laughing at Gingrich's insult, and asking him: 'Who, me?'
She then once again tried to steer the discussion back to the accusations surrounding Trump.
'Mr. Speaker, I'm not fascinated by sex, I am fascinated by the projection of women and understanding what we're getting in the Oval Office,' said Kelly.
Gingrich at that point choose to start attacking former president Bill Clinton, and in another outburst said to Kelly: 'Use the words, Bill Clinton, sexual predator. I dare you. Say Bill Clinton, sexual predator.'
Kelly attempted to jump in and respond to Gingrich's claim, repeatedly saying 'Excuse me' before finally explaining that her show had also explored allegations of sexual assault surrounding the former president.
She then told Gingrich: 'But he's not on the ticket. The polls also show that the public is less interested in the deeds of Hillary Clinton's husband, than they are in the deeds of a man who asks us to make him president, Donald Trump.
'We're going to have to leave it at that, and you're going to have to take your anger issues and spend some time working on them, Mr. Speaker,' said Kelly to close out the interview.

The sound of silence: Trump's campaign manager Kellyanne Conway (left) and his son Eric Trump (right) were not asked and did not comment on the incident Wednesday morning

Trump's campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and his son Eric Trump were not asked and did not comment on the incident Wednesday morning when she appeared on Today and he spoke with Fox and Friends.
Donald Trump Jr. did like one of Gingrich's tweets.
Dan Scavino Jr., the director of social media for the campaign, defended Gingrich's outburst while criticizing Kelly in a series of tweets after the bizarre incident.
'@NewtGingrich just destroyed @MegynKelly. Shows she is totally biased against Mr. Trump & not very smart. Mr. Trump has long known!!' wrote Scavino on Twitter immediately after Gingrich's appearance on The Kelly File.
He followed that up with another tweet, saying: '@MegynKelly made a total fool out of herself tonight- attacking @realDonaldTrump. Watch what happens to her after this election is over.'
Gingrich also posted a link to a video of the interview on his Twitter account.
'BREAKING: Newt Gingrich UNLOADS on Megyn Kelly over Donald Trump,' read the title of the video.
There was also a brief description beneath the video that said: 'SHAME ON MEGYN KELLY TONIGHT.'

[h=2]The show must go on: Megyn Kelly is all smiles as she heads to work hours after Trump applauded Newt Gingrich's attack on her[/h]
article-3876458-39BF934E00000578-186_964x406.jpg
A cheerful Megyn Kelly was photographed heading out of her apartment and into a waiting car on her way in to work on Wednesday afternoon. The popular host of The Kelly File is set to tape her first show since Newt Gingrich attacked her on Tuesday night's program, shouting at one point that Kelly was 'fascinated with sex.' Also seen leaving the apartment on Wednesday was Kelly's husband, novelist Douglas Brunt. Kelly was later seen arriving at Fox News headquarters, where she was quickly escorted inside by security. Hours earlier, Donald Trump very publicly showed his support for Gingrich while speaking at the opening of his newest hotel in Washington DC on Wednesday afternoon. 'By the way, congratulations Newt on last night. That was amazing.' He then added: 'We don't play games Newt? We don't play games.'
