Just an article in the AJC saying that Glavine is open to a trade .... all players in Bravo Clubhouse loved the idea ...Mazzone says I love the idea....Smoltz says Hell yeah....

I swear i wouldn't know an inside source if it landed on my head but this was a rumour in the paper last two days....

Remember he dissed the Braves in '02 for 42.5 Mil .......Can he help? Bullpen?

Just thinkin out loud?

I firmly believe that any pitcher can be effective in Atl. But I doubt this deal is going to happen the Mets are not going to trade Glavine to someone in their own division plus the Braves are not going to wanna take on Glavine salary. So the Mets would have to trade him within the NL East and eat most of his salary, just don't see it happening.

They don't need him, they are fine as is, only getting better and Chipper hopefully will be back healthy for the stretch run.

This is easily the most amazing run by a single team in the last decade plus i have ever seen.

I dont think Glavine could ever work out of the bullpen. Glavine is one of those pitchers that just takes too long to get into the groove of a game. Most of his earned runs are in the first 3 innings. I still love the idea of moving him back to ATL! If they did this, they could move Smoltz back into the bullpen. I think Smoltz is very capable of coming into the 8th or even 7th inning to close a ballgame out if he was needed. This would keep Smoltz around a lot longer. He is pretty old right now and pitching 100+ pitches like he does everyday can really take a toll on an old arm. JMHO

I dont see it happening either. I would love to see Glavine win his 300th game in a Braves uniform, but to be truthful I dont see where he fits in at this point. The Braves have some major decisions to make in the next few weeks regarding the starting rotation.

Mike Hampton and John Thompson is comming off the DL soon, and there replacement have been doing one hell of a job!!! How do you remove Davie, Colon and Sosa after being so effective? I dont know what they are going to do. I think at least one of them that being Hampton or Thompson is going to lose his starting job. Then you throw Glavine in the mix and you have more confussion.

Stay tuned ...I agree with you 110%...I swear the Braves surprised me again the last 10 days...great to see the new kids do well...I will say this - "quotable"...LOL...the Braves may make a run late into the 145-157 game area but the relief pitching will kill'em in the last 5-7 games...even with a bought mid-relieve/closer I think that the Marlins and Nationals will battle it out in the end....

Just too much pressure on kids never before in this situation...we were all on the edge of our seat hoping Francour in his Big League call up could make contact ....and then a third at bat Homer...Wow...now we're asking for a pennant out of these 11 out of 25 guys that were playing AAA ball or AA last month...

Can't wait for the second-half....G

Agree with every thing you said .... I don't mean to sound like JJ Gold here but I think Glavines latter years will be in "situational relief" or bull pen rest capacity ... look, he has already been paid and are NYM getting more dollars outa TG or Pedro?...we can't answer that yet...I don't see Smolie ever doing the BP thing in Atlanta uinless maybe in the playoffs ,,,get real all of us ..Hudson is Dudson ...cut your losses and give him up for a pick and farm shit from Cincy or an AL wanna be like KC ... I swear if we could get some people that had a clue in MLB then we would not be typing...LOL...love all you guys/girls...just fun.
