fallujah. I have full confidence in the US Marines. The Marines are the backbone of our country, where many Americans have went soft the backbone is strong.

Finally the job will be done properly.

The US media is out of control. How can they be reporting our troops movements? They would have been shot for doing that in WW2. I just don't understand how they can get away with reporting movement and numbers of troops. Why not help aim the weapons at our guys.

There won't be much voting in Fallujah come January, it will be a pile of rubble with a displaced civilian population.

BTW. The marines will just roll in there IMO, and the Iraqi resistance that remains in Falluja will melt away into the populace.

Falluja will be a damp squib, overhyped as a massive victory.
Then the trouble will pop up somewhere else.

You had all this stuff in Vietnam.
The only time you got a headbutting contest was Khe-Sahn.
The rest of the time, they melt away.
What the heck is so different this time ??

General Giap:-Vietnam
The enemy advances, we retreat; the enemy camps, we harass; the enemy tires, we attack; the enemy retreats, we pursue.

Of course you will need a Phoenix program to sort out the civilian population.

The last I heard, about 100,000 people remained in there.

Eek

I believe you are 100%, the enemy cannot possibly hope to
fight us conventionally, so they will do the VN thing. Very
difficult to overcome, thus the 10 to 20 more years predictions.
Very sad situation for our soldiers. Very difficult to fight and
keep up spirits.

Agree with gameface the media is crazy and the pool reporters and all the news outlets are making money off this war. They coud give a **** about our troops. From Fox to NBC, the pool reporters are a necessary evil.

As far as guerllia warfare, there will be limitted Islamic extremist(nut cases) that stay and fight. Most of them probably got the hell out of there after reading the battle news on CNN.com  Just like when we entered Baghdad.

These guys will just go somewhere else to blow up people.

Game,
Is there a particular reason that you only ordered God to bless US soldiers and not innocent Iraqi civilians that will soon be murdered by their "liberaters"?

Just curious how this new "Christian America" works.
Thanks.

Can this be the "crusade" to spread christianity that Bush spoke about after 911.

Always wondered what the political agenda was for this war, I thought Oil(probably 3rd on the list)after seeing the reports on GW Bush's base it now looks to be a "crusade".

A US General was quoted as saying "satan is in controll of Fallujah".(sp)

How do we know who the enemy is?

If you ask GAME he will probably say they are the ones fighting like redcoats, dressed in military garb and standing in line firing salvos....

Reality dictates a scenario like eek painted, with the fighters being smart about it and fading into the population, aka Vietnam style......the vietnamese were'nt dumb either.

Answer is that can't

In a fight without front lines against civilian-clothed enemies, Marines in central Iraq can't easily identify enemies called "The Muj" - short for mujahedeen, or Muslim holy warriors - who boobytrap roads and fire into U.S. bases from nearby hamlets.

"They're watching us right now. They're everywhere, but you can't tell who they are," says Sgt. Alexander Munoz as he leads a 1st Marine Division patrol through one town. "They wave and salute - then they bomb you."

OK, should we retreat then? NO. We've been watching them for months, it's not going to be easy but capturing or killing the leadership should be fairly easy. There are plenty of foreign fighters that can be identified.

Lets just hope the ground intelligence is better than what was there when they reported back that "Shock and Awe" would win this war.

By the way, these goons are actually trying to report Iraqi commando's are securing the area !!!!!!!!!!!

code,

I wouldn't doubt the operation goes much easier than anyone would think. The media has been in doom and gloom mode for so long I doubt the resistance is as bad as they report. We should get closer to the truth now that the election is over.

"I wouldn't doubt the operation goes much easier than anyone would think.......I doubt the resistance is as bad as they report..."

THEN WHY THE H*LL IS IT TAKING SO LONG?

If it was easy it would have been over by now, regardless what is being reported. Is that too simple a concept?

We've been over there for months and now I'm suppose to believe that it's going to be all over like next Tuesday?
