Now this is an intriguing match-up and two completely different teams.

If they both advance, who wins it?

I like Dallas.:103631605

You know Wade is great player when a team with Walker and Payton can get to the finals.

Will predict Dallas to open as favorite to win the series over Miami at -250.
Should be a good Finals and maybe even go 7 games, but would lean towards Dallas in 6. Being a Mark Cuban fan we are pulling for his squad to win it.

How can Detroit be favored when they are looking at being eliminated tonight in Miami?

Detroit has looked horrible all playoffs long - Dallas would be a decent fav over Miami - if the line is outrageous I will take Dallas to sweep - Miami is an above average team - this is not a championship team - they played nobody and now are playing a team that is impostering as the Pistons - the Mavs beat SA (although not fair and square) and that's enough for me to know Dallas has a championship quality team.

I would like to change my answer, Detroit will be favored, however the title will go to Dallas in 5. I forgot that the finals are 2-3-2 not 2-2-1-1-1.

also on the off chance that it is Miami vs Dallas, there should be no question about it, the opening line on the series will obviously go to Dallas. Even if Phoenix plays against the Heat, the suns will be favored.

It is not that tough a question in my oppinion, look who will get home court and they will be favored. We are to the point with these teams that if they are at home they should be favored in the game thus in my oppinion Miami will not be favored no matter if they play Dallas or PHX. However with all this said I think we will be looking at a Dallas/ Det series with Det favored and Dallas winning in 5, however I think the format makes it alot tougher for Dallas to win it then 2-2-1-1-1. just my oppinion.

Who has homecourt? I know Dallas had the better record, but they were a wildcard and Miami wasn't.

Mavericks in 6. Diop/Dampier can do a good job on Shaq and Terry can do a decent job on Wade. However, Miami has no one they can put on Dirk. I guess they will put Haslem on him the majority of the time but Haslem will get torched. Zo would prolly be the best guy to put on Dirk, but that's not saying much.

seeding does not matter record is the only determinant unless they are tied if I understand it correctly. 2-3-2 series will really help out Miami if they get all theirs at home. I still think this is Dallas's year.

Thanks Blue, I had no idea. Are you saying it's going to be a 2/3/2 series too?

I think Dallas takes this one relatively easy - They matchup well. Mavs in 5 or 6

yep, all other playoff games are 2-2-1-1-1, but the finals are 2-3-2 just to give the road team a little edge with momentum if both teams win their home games through the first 5, also puts some preasure on Dallas in the first two. should be a fun series though.
