Yea, I don't get it. Going to a very bad situation imo...I'm guessing they'll give him some time. As you said, he's going to need it...

Looks like Temple assistant/tight ends coach Ed Foley will serve as the interim head coach for the 12.27 Military Bowl against Wake Forest. Line has dropped from -13.5 to -12.5 on the news.

I haven't seen the contract, but I'm guessing he had in the range of about 4 million reasons for leaving. And at least a 6 year no-cut contract with lots of incentives. But we may never know for sure since Hypocrite U is a private church school. Using the term "church" loosely

I bet they took care of him like they did when the got Scott Drew for the mens BB team after the Dave Bliss mess. I have a couple of thoughts on the hire...1) with as wide open as the B12 is, and knowing that he's a blue collar, smash-mouth type of offense guy, it could be very similar to the effect that Stanford has in the PAC12. Because no one sees a 2 TE formation with a FB, it beats up most defenses by being more physical.

2) He had better get some staff and recruiters with Texas ties, especially those familiar with Texas HS football and that good ol boy system. Otherwise it will be tough to recruit to Baylor because of the stench. That or he goes the Gary Patterson route and coach them up.

He may have to do a lot of coaching up since Texas and Herman are going to be getting some prime recruits for here on out. I do like his scheme. KSU has the success they do in conference because of their different option oriented scheme. The only problem is the Texas HS system doesn't use that kind of scheme, so he'll either have to go outside of the state or retrain them. There will probably be a lot of redshirting going on once he gets established there.

He might have to go the Juco route initially, and then begin to re-recruit the HS. That or he has to build a staff with ties to the state of Texas. I think Herman will do well, but I don't think he'll do that much better in recruiting.
