For anyone that has had to make a difficult decision directly affecting their lives, one of the most important things they can do is to listen to their inner self and follow the path that will make them most comfortable and happy first. I learned many years ago "That if it doesn't feel right, don't do it". Clearly, Matt did not feel comfortable enough yet to come out into the NFL. No doubt, he runs the risk of injury, either career ending, for which he will be insured, or severe enough for him to drop in the draft and lose money. But, believe it or not, money isn't everything in life, not even $40 million. Remember, Barry Sanders walking away from the game while he was on the brink of breaking Walter Payton's rushing record. True, he had already made his money and would have made more, but he listened to his inner self and decided what was best for him. Even though Matt has no more to prove and most likely might drop out of the top draft position, so what? His thought process will serve him well long after his playing days are over. As much as I would have liked to see him in a 49er uniform, I applaud his ability to take in all the information provided to him and listen to himself and follow his own path.
