IND/GB O52 (-130)
$78 to win $60
Simply put, I'm investing in this potential shootout living up to the hype. The Colts D has been horrific in the secondary while dealing with injuries, and coming off that disappointing loss to Atlanta, the offense won't take this matchup for granted. Randall Cobb may be out but at least they're getting x-factor Ty Montgomery back. Green Bay's secondary is also notably banged up, and Andrew Luck, who has still enjoyed a good season despite his team's overall inconsistency, can more than keep up. I anticipate at least one real crooked number on the board, though it'd be very deflating if this ends 27-24.
CAR -3 @ Rams
$77 to win $70
To me, a big part of taking spreads is identifying when teams are clearly on the upswing, and that appears to be the case for last year's NFC representative in the Super Bowl, picking up a huge win over the Cardinals following their bye week -- which served as a break after their 1-5 start. I feel they'll keep the momentum going on the road against a club that is coming off a bye, yet still has serious questions involving Case Keenum as their starting quarterback. The Panther D could roll today, with the offense proving enough points to win decisively.
BAL +16.5, PIT/BAL U59.5, NYJ +16.5, IND/GB O40 (-130)
$52 to win $40
The Ravens-Steelers rivalry is one of the best in all of pro football and almost always generates a very competitive matchup; don't anticipate that many points either with Big Ben not at 100 percent health and the Ravens having a strong defensive unit this season. As for the other two selections here, should be points in IND/GB, while Jets figure to hang in there at Miami with their current momentum that has given their season new life.
