One man's viral claims that he received a deep-fried rat instead of chicken from KFC appear to be false. According to WGN-TV, Devorise Dixon visited a KFC in Wilmington, Calif. last week and posted a story on Facebook about his order. He alleges that he bought a three piece chicken tender meal and when he bit into one of the pieces, he noticed "it was very hard/tough and rubbery." Dixon says he looked down and saw it was a "cooked rat."
He posted an image of his meal on Facebook — which was shared thousands of times — and then warned people to watch "what you eat" because "people are sick out there." The next day Dixon uploaded another set of images with the caption: "Went back to KFC yesterday and spoke to the manager. She said it is a rat an apologized, it's time for a lawyer. Be safe. Don't eat fast food!!!"

KFC notes in multiple Facebook posts the restaurant takes Dixon's claims "very seriously" and the company is "continuing to investigate this matter." However, so far, the chain has found no evidence to support Dixon's allegations. KFC explains that chicken tenders "often vary in size and shape." The company adds that they are "aggressively trying to reach Mr. Dixon" and that they request he return to the restaurant with the rat-chicken for testing. KFC has not been able to get in touch with Dixon yet.
Others also do not believe Dixon: Imgur user smilingturtle points out that the "rat tail" could easily be chicken skin and that the rat's limbs are missing. Additionally, where Dixon bit into the "rat" would have been the location of the animal's brain and teeth, however, it just looks like white chicken meat. Myth-debunking site Snopes agrees.

If I ordered chicken tenders & they came out like the picture above, I would be running back to the restaurant......that's nasty looking with that tail.

In my town, KFC is closer to the poorer neighborhoods than the suburbs.

As a hunter I have eaten lots of weird stuff. Ducks, rabbits, deer, wild pigeons, collared peccary, lowland paca (which is a huge rodent I believe).
I'm yet to try snakes, crocodile and iguanas.
