Man beaten to death outside Phillies' park Saturday night

PHILADELPHIA -- A man who was attending a bachelor party at a bar next to the Philadelphia Phillies' ballpark was beaten to death during a melee outside.
Police say a group from the bachelor party got into a fight with other patrons at a sports bar and restaurant in the Citizens Bank Park complex Saturday night.

The trouble started during the closing innings of a game between the Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The groups were told to leave McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, and the dispute moved outside to a parking lot.

Police say 22-year-old Lansdale resident David Sale was assaulted there and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The World Series champion Phillies say they won't comment until arrests are announced.

It was 7pm, maybe the party started there and was going elsewhere.

The game in Philly Saturday was interupted for several minutes while security inspected the stands for someone with a "Red Laser Pointer Thing" who kept "Lasing" one of the Cardinal batters in an attempt to distract him while he was in the batters box. Maybe part of the same crowd.

i doubt it, i was watching the game and it looked like a green lazer pointer, not that it matters, but anyway they were somewhere in the lower level on the 1st base side above the dugouts. no one either gave them up to security or the ushers or no one in that area knew for sure who it was.

Philly is a tough town!

i got a Bill Burr stand-up DVD, in the extras he is in Philly doing stand-up and an Opie-n-Anthony show, the crowd is pissed at him for something, and he just starts ripping into Philly. It is too funny, making fun of people in the crowd and Philly sports teams. He just keeps giving an update also of how many more minutes he has left of stage time, saying he ain't leaving he's staying on stage for his full time.
