Any of you guys play this? I basically bought PS2 3 years ago for the sole purpose of playing Madden. 31 years old and still playing video games. Anyway, I freakin' love it. Tried ESPN 2K5 this year b/c it was only 20 bones and it's pretty good, but not knocking my socks off and I will purchase Madden again. Anyway, just curious if I was the only nerd over 30 that still plays video games.

I've got you beat bosox,I'm 36 and play football on X-BOX ALOT!! Me and some friends always have seasons going on with EA Sports games but by far the Maddens are the funniest with NCAA 05 football and NBA LIVE tied for a close 2nd.

Of course we bet like crazy on each game of season, division winners, who goes farther,MVP,etc. By the time the season is done there is a pretty good chunk of $$$$ exchanged hands!

PS-T.A Mclendon is a damn monster for the Wolfpack in the college football game!

I haven't heard, hard to believe they can much better than the x-box right now. That is serious graphics! Amazing how realistic some of these EA Sports games are.

Next generation full machines are not coming out in the US until late 2005. The next up will be a Nintendo system to be released in Japan, or at least is planned now. The item scheduled to come out by Xmas is the PSP, Play Station Portable to take on that market. Xbox next version is supposedly a 2006 event even, with PS likely to beat them to market (again).

what is the online adaptor?
is it the online subscription that you pay for to play online, or is specific to madden?

Anybody played it yet? Looking for a comparison between Madden 05 and 2K5. I've played 2K5 some and will be buying Madden later today.

the ESPN 2k5 is decent. Worth spending the $20 on to hold me over. Should be picking up Madden today. Cant wait.

Hopefully ESPN keeps their bball game at $20. that is hands down the best bball game there is. EA Live sucks a donkeys dick.

Madden 2005 is OUT now, if you go by your local GameStop or EB Games.

The official release date is the 12th, but it is in store now (at least where I live).

If anyone picks up a PC copy, let me know.

I just picked up Madden 2k5 (34, and I still play lots of video games).

There are a couple of improvements over the older madden games. 2 that jump out are the "hit-stick" used on defense to either a. administer a brutal hit, or b. mis-tackle terribly; and the new defensive play selections. It's much easier to tell if a d-back will play zone or man-man defense with the new selection screen.

The only bad thing about the new madden is the cheerleaders aren't as hot. Some of there are even a bit chunky (I prefer my cheerleaders borderline anorexic).

Now, if you have an X-box (or PS2), you gotta try DDR... Video crack-cocaine.
