When you have a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter and the defense can't stop you, you better find a way to hold the lead. Settling for field goals killed them. Their last drive they were running the ball down Texas throat. 3 and 2? incomplete pass. Then when it was clear Texas was going to settle for a field goal, he could have easily preserved 30 seconds by using his time-outs, which is enought time to get into field goal range.

It was a great game. I do think Carr made some errors in the 4th Quarter but he had his team prepared. Hindsight is BS, but foresight was available, Vince Young was not going to be stopped. You can't trade field goals for TD's, and Texas hadn't tried a field goal all day (in other words, they were scoring TD's). 3rd and 2, run the ball for a 1st down, take another two minutes off the clock and kiss the Rose Bowl trophy.
