Mr. Mac, in our accounting process, a push(tie) is the same as a loss, correct? In other words, only winning percentage and a tie counts as a game played. ATLSLIM

Sweet... MAC, awesome you're holding these events but I gotta root for ATL. Can I get in a $200 side bet with you? Don't really feel like $1k lol

Correct Sir.

Jetplane I'll do a $200 side bet based on my other competition and who ends up with more points. Sounds good?

This thread/competition is for me and ATL.

Hopefully we can share some info in this thread on top of the competition we have going. Waiting for a call from a contact in Tampa, but the T.B./Atlanta game should be a very interesting game. Have a few leans at this point, nothing solid. It is so hard not to roll with some of the teams that dominated last week, but last season, Week 2 was a week for the underdog and one thing is for certain, 80% of the teams that played bad last week will improve their effort this week.

Dallas, Philly, Buffalo, Pittsburg, Chicago all dominated and maybe 2 or 3 of these will continue to do so. The book feeds on human nature and when you see Dallas roll over the Browns, with the Steelers dominating, it is hard not to bet the farm on the Steelers -6 this week. Cleveland showed so little, 91 rushing, 114 passing, hell they gave up 320 yards in the air. Cleveland will play better defense. I still like the Steelers and I am a long time Browns fan! But back to the TB and Falcons, hard to spot a team that gained 318 rushing yards a touchdown. I like the points here, not enough for a top 3 pick though.

The Colts had 53 yards rushing last week, that won't happen again, even if half of the offensive line is out.

More thoughts coming. CRUSH THE BOOKS!!!! ATLSLIM

I always love week 2 in the NFL. Because the Spreadmakers are usually way off, based on the misconceptions of Week 1. I got 7-9 plays and they are all money. You gotta love how the public is swayed by the Week 1 games. I can't wait to see what games you think are the best bets. Mine are coming most likely tonight.

Alright Slim my 3 plays are as follows.

Buffalo +5.5
San Diego -1.5
Cleveland +6.0

Here's a few writeups for those checking for this thread.

Buffalo Bills at Jacksonville Jaguars -5.5
Vegas you’ve got to be kidding me here. How the hell can you justify the Jaguars being 5.5 point favourites here. This Spread at best should be Jax -3.0. Buffalo has a legitimate shot at winning this game here. This game has physical low scoring field goal game written all over it. I love Stroud and the Bills D-Line to really take advantage of a banged up offensive line in Jacksonville. Garrard is going to be under constant pressure and forced into mistakes once again this week. On the flip side, the Bills are going to have their fair share of difficulty against this physical defense of the Jags. This game is a field goal game either way so the 5.5 points is a gift.

Mac Picks: Buffalo +5.5

San Diego Chargers -1.5 at Denver Broncos
MISCONCEPTIONS!!! I love week 2 because every body is quick to jump teams after just 1 week of action. This spread is obviously swayed by last weeks action. After watching Monday Night Football I bet everybody thinks Denver might be a legitimate power house this year. They are good but they are not an elite team yet. The team that is lining up across the field from them this week is. Make no mistakes about it, San Diego is the best team in the league. They cannot and will not go 0-2 to start the season, and they will not fall 2 games back to Denver in the AFC West. They are going to win this game here, whether it be by 3 points or 30 points, they will get the job done. San Diego’s elite Defense is going to create pressure on Cutler, and the Corners are going to have no problem covering Marshall and Royal. On the flipside of the ball L.T is going to be licking his lips as he sees holes wider than Pamela Anderson’s P**** San Diego rolls and gets it done here.

Mac Picks: San Diego -1.5

Pittsburgh Steelers -6.0 at Cleveland Browns
This is going to be a Sunday Night game that I can’t wait to see. Cleveland is going to win this division this year, and in order to do that they must win this game at home. I like Cleveland here because they have the perfect offense against this tough Steelers D. The only chance you have to run against Pitt, is with a physical running game. Enter Jamal Lewis. In the air, I like Cleveland’s mismatches in the passing game. Winslow is going to force Polamalu to stay with him the whole game, which is going to open up the running game, and is going to allow Braylon Edwards to get some single coverage. On the flipside of the ball Pitt is also going to get some offense in. They are going to look to establish the run with Parker, but I’m more concerned in Ben exposing the Browns weak secondary. In the end though Giving Cleveland 6 points at home, in a game where they will most likely win, is a gimmie.

Mac Picks: Cleveland +6.0

Mac, great analysis on your picks. I see you like those Great Lakes teams(Buffalo and Cleveland). As I said I was a Brown's freak as a young man. I spent many cold afternoons at Municipal Stadium watching the Browns. I just don't have as much faith in them as you do at this point. It is a square play, but I will probably go against you on that one. Buffalo is definitely an up and coming team and Jax really disappointed last week. The Under here might be a play for me. San Diego started slow last year and that could be the case this year also. Oh well, I'm going to a company picnic at Stone Mt. this morning, be back later this afternoon. Beat the books!!!!
