lower paid coaches in the SEC (tied for 8th with fired Arkansas coach). His $4 million
salary ranks 28th nationally.

The LSU defense is the issue to me.
I do not completely understand how many "original" starters are playing this weekend, and which ones have been out for which games.
I remember games that they had starters missing, and of course the impact LB was off the team but is coming back...
But to understand for this weekend, and the SEC Championship game, rather than just say you like one side or the other, if everybody could help with that issue...
ALSO, as we learned long ago in the Air Coryell era, when a team has a top wide open O and an elite QB that puts up TDs quickly, their D is on the field much more than others and points are put up, so on paper they do not look so hot, even if they are a decent unit...

like someone else said, I don't think that extra 'motivation' from last year means much. Maybe coach O will try to run the score up if has the chance? sure. but once players start flying around and hitting each other none of the stuff from last year will matter, IMHO.

Keep an eye on the weather in this game.

The forecast is not good and is calling for heavy thunderstorms and lightening beginning at kickoff AND CONTINUING ALL NIGHT AND INTO THE MORNING. You could see extensive delays and maybe even a cancellation if the SEC tries to force this game into it's current time slot.
